For what it’s worth, Chris Cocks has been telling shareholders that Hasbro has over 35 entertainment projects in the works. I don’t think that includes videogames, because he’s always talking up gaming as its own thing. And I think comics would fall under licensing. I think entertainment means shows and movies.
I can’t name many Hasbro brands that ever get shows or movies anymore. MLP has to be getting something.

They really are climbing out of a hole. As much as we want them to continue funding the current thing until the next thing is ready to go, it’s possible they just can’t afford to do both. Not with so many other projects also in the works. So it was either cut current Pony projects or delay the next big thing. And they really want that next big thing ready to go when the Year of the Horse gets here. Delay was not an option. It needs all the Pony budget now.
Axing TYT is ruthless, but maybe that budget is going to good use. We’ll find out.

To be honest, going back to G1 would be the best option at this point if G5 is actually ending. I’ve grown tired of entiled adults thinking My Little Pony is for them! And the G1 style looks really cute, the only downside is that they all seem to have the same mane/tail style and body shape.

This proved my point. A serious problem has arisen where people attack each other regardless of whether you are a G4 or G5 fan, and which goes straight to the throat of anyone who points this out for their “own” side and to blame everyone else besides themselves. This is not only in My Little Pony fans, this is found everywhere - and it is almost exclusively an American phenomenon, which has worsened in the last ten years. People are too quick to label each other, and this spreads to children, who imitate adults when they grow up. Disrespect, intolerance, conflict escalation, lying, distortion and aggressiveness have become “in”. It is the complete opposite of what the bronies are said to want and what MLP: Friendship is Magic was supposed to promote.
As I said, the Americans have problems because similar things are seen in societies that are torn apart - like Yugoslavia in 1988-1991. And perhaps the great separation of the ponies at the forefront of the ANG movie in the fictional G5 world.
You need to have tolerance, respect and esteem for each other.

That is what many people are now pondering about Cock’s strategy, so that questions are being asked about the nature of Hasbro, because it seems that he is not very transparent, not completely honest and too hasty. Incidentally, many of these projects are poorly known, and it is not clear which brands are concerned. It takes time and a lot of resources to have G6, there were several who said that a year and a half was too short when G5 is being prepared. It’s only a year and a few months until the Year of the Horse in China.
So there is reason to be skeptical about Cock’s intentions. Because after what we have seen in 2021-24 after he took over, there are good reasons to fear the worst.

It is not known, Cocks has come up with contradictions several times on various issues, most recently about the supposed move from Rhode Island - which means that many, including the state senator, do not know where he stands. I begin to ponder. And so should many.
Since the new movie “Transformers: One” is featured here, it should be said that this may be one of those movies with poor publicity acceptance despite strong reviews. Too early to say - but I feel the idea that the transformation ability in the movie is very similar to the case with the disappearance of magic in the ANG movie. The transformer fans had for several decades got used to the fact that transformers could transform themselves “forever”. As we had gotten used to the fact that magic was “eternal” in My Little Pony.

Not a chance. First of all, that would be playing with fire to make shareholders a promise like that if it turned out those projects weren’t really happening. He’d be out of a job very quickly if that came to light.
Secondly, it wouldn’t be Hasbro if they weren’t working on the next overly grandiose plan. That wasn’t just a Goldner thing. They’ve always been like that.

I’ve been wondering about that. I wonder if G5 and Transformers: ONE were conceived around the same time and that’s where the similarity came from, and maybe they weren’t supposed to be released so far apart. I think ONE got delayed by its more complex animation and possibly rewrites. But now I wonder if G5’s production also got sped up. Maybe the situation with Discovery Family led Hasbro to rush their G4 replacement out way before it was actually ready.

Okay uh so I’m back, I was very tired. Didn’t feel like replying for a long time but I see a LOT has happened so I’ll break it down:
- Twilight created an artifact: The Unity Crystals (Just Twilight, The crystals were made in g5 and not during FIM’s run. Flashbacks don’t count)
- The industriousness of pegasi is reflected in Zephyr Heights (Rainbow Factory? Ok)
- We get an entire comic arc about Discord, and he’s used as a device to show just how hard the Unity Crystals are to destroy. (Can agree)
- The Daring Do books are used in that arc (small detail but yes, thanks for refreshing my memory)
- They do visit the ruins of Canterlot. But other than its iconic architecture, Canterlot didn’t have much of an identity (Yes, I agree. But you know. History lesson)
- Celestia and Luna are used to show just how old Opaline is (Yes, that too)
- Spike’s letter-sending is expanded on; it’s a breath power, and each of the dragons has a unique one. (Because Celestia gave him this power. Dragons nearly his age and need I add probably ain’t born yet have it too by default now? Are they his late siblings?)
- Skyros is an “Alicorn Homeland”, which was an idea from The Journal of the Two Sisters (Technically never a g4 element but I think that name is so much cooler)
- The Breezies have more going on in G5 than they did in G4. (Acknowledging they existed at least, they only first appeared because it’s easier to edit existing assets like a pony and then cloning them. Other races don’t get this treatment because they apparently need to be made from scratch.)

I never liked Hasbro’s pitch and these people never liked g5 to even let it take off. I have never met sadder, more attention-starved jabbering little pricks like them. But unfortunately for every ying, there’s a yang.

She just provided voicework and anyways, their hate already must’ve stemmed way back in “G5 ruined g4’s happy ending”. It’s shallow reasoning and always will be. I’ve been reading them on-and-off since their debut. TYT has short, supplemental stories with a lighter tone, IDW has weightier, more mature stories, and MYM is somewhere in the middle. It’s been like that since the beginning.

Three years’ difference is a bit too much, but on closer inspection it is easy to see that there are several similarities between MLP ANG and Transformers: ONE, especially the disappearance of magic and absence of the transformation ability that had to be “rediscovered” by Optimus and Megatron. It may be possible that it was the same team that had drawn up the rough outlines of the stories for both movies. And; which we also see, almost got the same response from the fans. There are even Easter eggs and reuse of older lore in the ONE movie - it gets a bit too weird, even if it is far more violent, drastic and colourful.
The G5 got off to a good start. Everyone agrees on this. But as soon as the first MYM episode aired, everything started to go in the wrong direction. It is because the team behind the movie and the preliminary work as the finished script had been dismissed with few exceptions - replaced with unprepared workers who had to rewrite and redesign G5 - so that things started to go wrong, more or less left to themselves. It is now almost three years since G5 started, and we have not received an answer to what made the current situation possible.
Grandoise or not; good management, efficient handling and care for own products is essential. It becomes clear that G4 was an exception in the history of neglect by a brand in the hands of a company with too many iron pieces to manage. What we have experienced since the spring of 2022 reminds a little too much of the case surrounding Boeing, which also thought glorifically - which everyone knows, went wrong. Very wrong. If you want to be successful, you must have soul and heart in your work.
We can safely say that Faust’s effect on My Little Pony is now over. Crushed by greedy and short-term profit-obsessed businessmen.
