Maybe something’s gone very sour in their relationship with Netflix, and they don’t know how to talk about it so they’ve agreed to just say nothing.
TYT became available on Netflix, didn’t it? I wonder if they tried to claim some co-ownership of future TYT episodes, and Hasbro said “Fine, there won’t be any.”

Oh, boy, if true, that’ll probably mean the same case for MYM.
Can’t hasbro at least make their own streaming service? At least we get a channel, but boy.

I did wonder how much TYT being put on Netflix was Hasbro trying to finish off a content requirement for a Netflix contract. Like they wanted to shop MYM to other services but had an obligation for episodes and so put TYT on Netflix to finish it out. Especially given how short TYT is, it just always seemed odd to have it on actual streaming services like Netflix as if it was a regular 30 min show.

Also the restructuring isn’t that surprising when you think about how much Hasbro has been on a downward spiral in terms of money and stocks as a company. Outside of Wizards of the Coast the company has been doing poorly for a very long time now.

Man, TYT cancelled, most likely the whole generation getting axed too, and watching Sonic the Hedgehog on Netflix didn’t do me any favors having James Marsden there. But at least you guys let me know of the existence of a pony channel. I got to watch Pony Life for the first time in years. And the final episode on top of that.

I feel like the news of G5’s cancellation caused a mass hysteria ngl. I can’t even process what is even happening anymore. I do hope in 2025 the fanbase will fall in dormancy and cease fire upon each other. Idk what to think about what will happen in 2026. Makes me wish the dormancy lasted longer than one year.

Well, licensing is still going strong apparently. Hasbro just announced some stuff. Mostly G4 or unspecified, but G5 is being acknowledged at least.

MY LITTLE PONY x Aoger (China): Hasbro and plush toys company Aoger are collaborating on a new collection of MY LITTLE PONY Generation 5 plush toys. The new lineup will release in China at the end of 2024 and includes innovative, high-quality designs authentic to the iconic MY LITTLE PONY brand made with soft and safe materials.
The oddest announcement is that MLP is getting whole pop-up stores to itself.
MY LITTLE PONY x MINISO (APAC): Miniso, a global value retailer that offers a wide range of stylish lifestyle products featuring IP designs, has partnered with Hasbro to launch MY LITTLE PONY pop-up stores now through October in four Chinese cities: Shenzhen, Chongqing, Suzhou and Tianjin. During this time, MINISO will launch more than 55 new products across including lifestyle, fashion accessories, plush doll, stationery, toys and more.

No mention of existing season 2 episodes ever getting added to Netflix. I was just guessing, but maybe there really was some feud with Netflix behind all this.
