Background info: some characters have multiple tags which all imply each other, so posts always have all of those tagged names. This setup usually has the purpose of keeping people who prefer one name or the other happy, by not making any name disappear in favor of another. These can come about if a character had a fan name long before official media gave them an official name, or if different fan-sites or communities invented different names for background ponies, or if different official media gave different names, etc.
Now that Derpibooru recently implemented the ability to search by the number of tags of a type present on a post - such as, “this post has 2 character name tags” - the inter-implied multiple names interfere with using that number precisely. For example, to find a picture of Octavia and Vinyl Scratch and no other ponies, you’d need to search for
character_tag_count:3 because Vinyl Scratch is always also tagged DJ Pon-3 and both tags are counted.- Multi-name characters could be reassigned compound name tags, like
vinyl scratch/dj pon-3, and have each name’s tag (vinyl scratchanddj pon-3) aliased into it. This ought to be enough to keep normal searches and filters working exactly the same as before. The only sticking point would be to decide what order to write the names within the compound name tags… - Or, there could be a new tag category made, something like “extra_names” - which would have the same color and still be grouped with “character” tags - and all but one of the names in each group of names would get reassigned to this different category. They’d still mutually imply each other, but only one would contribute to the number of “character” tags. Because tag categories are currently hard-coded, this would require a site software update to implement, whereas #1 could be done right now with moderators’ abilities.
On Sept 28, 2024 I scraped the site tags for all the multi-name characters, and if I did it right, here are all of them:

“A Day in the Light and Shadow”
In the grand halls of Canterlot Castle, the golden rays of the morning sun began to filter through the stained-glass windows, casting vibrant colors across the floor. But for once, these rays weren’t heralding the start of a busy day of royal duties. Instead, they found Celestia lounging on a balcony, sipping tea, her crown and regalia discarded to the side.
“Another beautiful sunrise, sister,” came Luna’s voice, stepping onto the balcony to join her. She, too, was without her usual royal armor, her mane flowing freely in the early morning breeze.
Celestia smiled, glancing at her younger sister. “Thank you, Luna. And I’m sure the stars last night were as stunning as ever.”
Luna gave a modest smile. “One does what one can.”
For the first time in what felt like ages, the royal sisters had cleared their schedules—no meetings, no court, no royal decrees. It was a rare day off, and they intended to enjoy every minute of it.
“So, what’s on our agenda today?” Luna asked, sitting next to Celestia, who was already pulling out a list with a mischievous grin.
“No politics, no nobles, and certainly no paperwork,” Celestia said, rolling up the scroll and tossing it aside. “Today, dear sister, we are free to explore the simpler joys of Equestria.”
Luna’s eyes lit up with excitement. “Finally! I tire of endless paperwork. Shall we visit Ponyville? Or perhaps the Everfree Forest for some adventure?”
“I was thinking something even more daring,” Celestia said, her grin widening.
Luna raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “What could be more daring than braving the Everfree?”
With a wink, Celestia stood, her horn glowing as she conjured a portal in mid-air. On the other side was the image of a quaint little village far from the hustle of Canterlot—just beyond the borders of the Crystal Empire.
“Sister, what is this?” Luna asked, peeking through the portal.
“It’s a secret village,” Celestia said, stepping through the portal, her mane flowing like a waterfall of sunlight. “This is where I come when I need to unwind. I call it ‘Solar Springs.’”
Luna followed her sister through the portal, finding herself in a village surrounded by rolling hills and lush forests. It was beautiful—quiet and peaceful, with small cottages nestled among the trees. The air smelled of fresh pine and lavender, and a gentle river flowed through the center of the town.
“And what exactly do we do here?” Luna asked, her voice a mixture of curiosity and awe.
Celestia chuckled. “We blend in. No titles, no royal treatment. Just us, living like ordinary ponies for a day.”
Before Luna could protest, Celestia cast a spell that altered their appearances. Her mane became a soft pink, her wings and horn vanished, and she now looked like a regular earth pony. Luna found herself similarly transformed—her coat darkened to a deep purple, and her celestial mane now appeared as a simple light blue.
“I’m… just a normal pony,” Luna said, looking herself over in disbelief. “No one will recognize us?”
“Not at all,” Celestia replied. “It’s freeing, isn’t it?”
The sisters wandered through the village, chatting with the locals, who knew them only as “Sunny” and “Lulu.” They spent the morning sampling treats from the local bakery, helping a farmer tend to her crops, and even took a peaceful stroll along the riverbank. For once, the pressures of leadership were miles away, and they were simply two sisters enjoying life.
As the sun began its descent, the two found themselves sitting on a grassy hill overlooking the village, the sky painted in warm hues of orange and pink.
“I had forgotten what it was like to just… be,” Luna said, her voice soft. “It’s so easy to lose oneself in duty.”
Celestia nodded. “That’s why I come here when I can. It reminds me that we’re more than our crowns. We’re still just two sisters who love spending time together.”
Luna smiled, leaning against Celestia. “Perhaps next time we could visit a place of my choosing. I know of a lovely glade in the Dream Realm, where the stars are always within reach.”
Celestia chuckled. “I would love that, Luna.”
As the stars began to twinkle above them, the two sisters lay back in the grass, their eyes gazing up at the night sky. They didn’t need their crowns or their thrones in that moment. All they needed was each other, and the peace of a world where they could be free to live, laugh, and dream—if only for a day.

I could not find the other thread I created about admitting to myself I am gay. I did not want to be annoying about it and never bumped it. Except I finally opened up to my mother today.
Our plans got cancelled and she lives an hour away. I wated to talk to her in person about this. Except reality and life happened. She went silent on the phone not really commenting much on what I had to say.
In the past I would fight these feelings I had. I envied people on this forum and others. I acted like a jerk and lost friends over this. I don’t want to fight it anymore. I hate pushing people away because I become romantically attracted to them.
I much rather admit my feelings and live with the posibility of being turned down. Its ok to be friends. Sometimes friends give the best comfort. If a guy accepts I will allow myself to experience things.
I am not looking for sympathy by making these threads. I just figured I update on things. If people can forgive me on here then this in itself will mean the world to me. Though I won’t blame you if you don’t. My best friend from Bronycon never spoke to me again. Its comming up on 10 years since we first became friends at Church. Roughly 2015…. However, the way I treated her over transitioning was aweful. I hold nothing against her for keeping her distance.

I obviously try my best to include the needed information for an upload but someone I genuinely can’t find it. I can’t find a better source then this. I know you need like pronpter, engine, all that stuff. But I can’t figure that stuff out.

With G5 already coming to a close, I think it’s time to start this thread. Honestly, as a long time FIM fan, I feel a bit burned out of G5. It’s not so much the content itself that slowly drove me away from catching up any further, but rather how Hasbro absolutely mishandled it post-ANG. It was a very bumpy ride. All of this has me even more skeptical on how Hasbro plans with their brand revamp in 2026. I do have more to say, but I’d like to hear you guy’s thoughts on what G6 could or should be.

I’ve heard of pony tulpas before and it’s essentially gaslighting yourself into thinking the characters are real, but in order to achieve that effect you have to do it deliberately and really focus on it. Is it possible to do that on accident?
I’m curious if ponies are invading anyone else’s life like this.

it was constructed from screencaps and followed the official episodes, but had text boxes detailing the thoughts of each character, revealing that they all hated each other and were using each other for their own gain, and each thought the others genuinely liked them
im fairly certain everyones thoughts were color-coded to their actual colors, except pinkie pie, who’s thought were caution sign yellow and black
i have no idea what it was called, named, where it was hosted, or anything else beyond that
any help in figuring out what comic this was is appreciated!

Hey, I haven’t found any topic really related to what I wanted to ask and wanted to create a topic about it.
So I was wondering since I see art being made of peoples OCs from time to time containing something that the owner of that OC doesn’t like or never wanted to be made and my question would be if there is a way of maybe preventing artworks of someones OC being uploaded containing something the OC owner never wanted to be made or uploaded here on derpi?
Lets for example take someone is drawing an art of someones OC in an artwork containing gore with the owner of that said OC not wanting it to have been made or uploaded, would it be possible for said OC owner to request a takedown or do something for it to be prevented to being uploaded 🤔

In a “right-handed” kitchen, the fridge swings open from left-to-right. Thus the fridge goes on the right so the door opens out of the way, the pantries are put close to that, and the (right-handed) cook moves left to the stove or food prep, then left again to the sink.
A lot of kitchens in the show are laid out this way, albeit with more pantries and less fridges:

The first is Sweet Apple Acres, where generations of horses have lived and which has four residents at the time of that screencap, so we can’t be sure the orientation of the kitchen means much. Most of the farm is very haphazard so it may just be the Apples don’t think about it much.
The second is the house Starlight and Sunburst were in during the flashback to their childhood, so I don’t know who actually works that kitchen.
But the last is Rarity’s kitchen, in a house that is clearly made just for her, where she is the only persistent resident. She is an “artiste” and there’s a big stereotype that artists are all lefties. And also, that huge fridge or whatever that is opens right-to-left, the way a lefty would open it.
So Rarity’s a lefty.

So this tag exists,
alternate character and I’m not sure what the definition or meaning is. The description is has now is rather vague.Applied to alternate versions (made by artist) where the major difference is another character(s).
Does not apply in cases, if different look is a part of a character design (for example Princess Luna and Nightmare Moon; Queen Chrysalis and Princess Cadance).
Not only do I not understand what the second half means, but the first half is really vague. It says nothing about clone YCHs, which seems to be the majority of what it’s tagged on, and I don’t get that, as that implies that one image is the original of it, which doesn’t feel fair to me.
From name alone, I would assume this tag is for images where the artist makes an alternate version of an image with a different character of the exact same pose and setting.

Pinkie’s hair is too cartoony for my redesign, So I think I’d best provide her with a new one. So what would Pinkie Pie’s hair look like if redesigned in anthro form? Is there a option that would suit her in this selection I made?

Are those users right, And should I draw Pinkie Pie with a little bit of weight on? Is there a suitable body size on this diagram I made?

And if anthro, Would she have any piercings on the ears or any physical scars or should I even give Pinkie Pie that doesn’t use that line across the teeth so they don’t stand out so much?

Are those users right? And would Pinky wear rubber boots as if they were normal shoes? Or a different sort of footwear? And what do the boot soles look like?
Mission wear
With how often she goes with Twilight, Spike and the other main characters of the series on amazing adventures where they try to stop villains from using magic for their evil ends, It’s likely she’d wear an outfit people would wear when on missions. Would she if she were anthro? If so, What does it look like? I have some concepts here you can use to make up a mission wear for Pinkie.
But it needs to suit her, And be one she’d wear if anthro and needed on a mission. And would it be like the bodysuit Rouge had in Sonic Prime or have some armoured padding like those of the Storm Hawks? and would she carry a weapon? If so, what sort of weapon?
That’s all the questions I have about Pinkie. Hope you read em and have answers.
