Description
Between possession, snapping out of it for a short time, and even her colorization. I couldn’t help but be reminded of the Shadow Queen.

@thps48
We don’t talk about Sticker Star. Star Sticker doesn’t exist.
Though, if there was any damn info on it, I’d be fine with talking about Paper Jam. :3
Why would that be suspicious?
It’s been years since I last played SPM. The last time I replayed the game I got to the Space Traveling chapter and haven’t played it since. Normally I’ll go to Super Mario Wiki for information and any in-depth topics about the characters, but the site had changed and deleted a lot of character info, making it less reliable like it once was.
Should just pay attention to their lines, actions, and in-game info at first, unless future official info turns up later.
The gameplay can eat me, but the story was fine, I guess. :T
TVtropes I believe. I think it was more in theroy than an actual fact base on Dimentio’s motives and personailty, but I just took whoever posted that info word for it since I don’t have alot of in-depth knowledge of the characters. TVtrope tends to over exaggerate on some topics, but it gets you thinking sometimes.
Where did you get the “war and destruction” part?
All I got from his lines was that he wanted to remake the worlds in his own image.
In the Japanese version there is even implied murder! Remember that empty house in the back ally of Rogueport? On the floor in it, there was originally blood stains, and a chalk outline where a murder took place.
Seems like Rogueport is a darker town then we thought. It’s kinda funny how the first Paper Mario’s main town hub was the bright, and happy cheerful Toad Town, and in the sequel TTYD, we got Rogueport, a darker, crime-rate-filled town filled with near-do-wells, pick-pockets, and criminals.
Seems to be a response to some fans complaining how saccurine the first “Paper Mario” looked. (Though, even it had a few dark things in it too. Like Mario getting framed for murder, and such.)
@Blissey1
Oh, I see what you mean. I even remember when you have to battle Lord Crump a third time in the X-Naut’s HQ. He used his upgraded Magaus Von Grapple 2.0 to scoop up some of the audiences as ammo for the machine gun. Not much of a death scenario, but still pretty hard core.
There was something pretty similar to that concept in “Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time”, when in the past the Shroobs catchered the Toad civilians and fused them into trees that are literally sucking away their vim (life energy) as power fuel. You can even see them decaying and slowly dieing out in the open. I always considered “Partners in Time” to be the darkest of the Mario & Luigi series for all the horrible things the Shroobs have done.
Yeah, I was talking about on-screen deaths, like when the Shadow Queen consumes the souls of the audience to restore her HP.
I think he means the some of the boss fights where the audience gets straight up murdered, like the final boss or the bonus boss in the pit
It was basically the intention of the Smithy Gang, not the overall adventure for Mario and his party. I can’t exactly remember why Smithy wanted Rainbow Road (a bridge for all people’s wishes to cross) shattered into picecs. I don’t think that part when collecting their broken pieces was ever explained.
@Fwelin
What do you mean? Like, for example, Bobbery’s (the party member salior Bob-omb) wife passed away and it was mentioned a few times, and all those dead cropse in Hooktail’s Castle?
Isn’t TTYD the only Mario game with explicit deaths of innocents? I can’t remember any deaths of non-bad guys in other games of the series.
Perhaps, as she was a much darker/creepier villain.
Kinda ironic given Paper Mario’s cuter art style. (Remember back when people whined that “Paper Mario” looked to kiddy compared to SMRPG?)
I didn’t say he was bad, persay, just underwhelming after them talking about him all game. I felt the Shadow Queen lived up to her in-story hype a lot better.
