And let’s not forgot that you see her straight up kill about 200 audience members using that very attack, so she could fully heal herself.  
I can’t imagine being dragged into the shadows is a pleasant way to go either.

Y’know, given how “cutesy” the Paper Mario series’ graphics are, (they used to get heat over looking “to kiddy,” I recall) I got to say that was one of the darkest/creepiest Mario villains ever made. (Overall, “Thousand Year Door” had a darker atmosphere then the previous PM game had, despite retaining the cuteness & comedy of the first game.)
 
Heck, one of her attacks consists of summoning creepy shadow zombie hands, that drag you down below the ground, and beat you up off screen.
