Oh crap! A well respected and beloved MLP artist has sullied our template about being loving to one’s cartoon horse wife that was originally a template about physically and mentally abusing her! And they ship Flashlight!
Shining: “It’s funny you know, but every time somepony breaks my sisters heart they suddenly develop an allergic reaction..” Flash: “Uhh.. sir? I don’t think allergies work that wa..” Shining: “The first symptom is heavy bruising around the eyes, followed by inexplicably bumping into things. If not treated correctly this can result in an accidental, fatal drop from a great hight. But I’m sure you won’t suffer from that condition… will you?”
@Jarkes
It’s ok but if i can add something,the problem is that Flash whether you like it or not is their Jar Jar Binks,it maybe the majority or a minority who dislike him,i dont know, but bringing him will automatically cause gnashing of teeth
Except… they weren’t doing it to troll us. They put him in there because they wanted to do a call back, as well as for the people who actually DID like him and the movie. Yes, such people exist. I know it must be hard to wrap your head around, but not everything the staff currently does is to spite the fans.
@Background Pony Number 17
I don’t think anyone was trying to troll anybody with his appearance, but eh. As to your second paragraph, all I can say is that it would be nice if the writers thought that way. They’ve been incredibly sparing when it comes to backstories in general. Cutie Mark Chronicles is one of the few episodes that actually bothered with it, and that was way back in S1.
I think the tricky thing about pony Flash is that he isn’t exactly the guy that Twilight was crushing on. Of course, that could actually provide some hilarious material for them starting a relationship, if it was done right.
@patec Well they better be prepp’d for THA H8!
And the severe lack of toy sales. It was hard enough selling girls on Shiny toys!
(also they already have a prince available so wtf is this newfag about!)
If Hasbro decides that their new princess needs a prince, and that this prince should be the character they already shoved into EQG (and probably RR, we’ll see), than it’s gonna happen.
If they don’t want all that, than it’s not happening.
If you ask me… I can see it happen. Maybe not in S5, but after that.
@Millennial Dan
Except that with other characters, you got to see a glimpse of their personality and behaviorisms right from the start. Flash isn’t even a background pony at this point, he’s just a sight gag the animators have been using to troll us.
If the writers want Flash Sentry in the show, they need a reason to bring him in. From what little we’ve seen, he does has some interesting “hooks” that could be used. He’s a non-Crystal Pony that is a Royal Guard in the Crystal Empire, for one. That right there calls for a back story – how’d he get there? His appearance in “Three’s a Crowd” was a sight gag, but to explain it you have to assume he’s a member of Cadence’s personal guard. So, arguably, he already has a relationship of some sort with Shining Armor (maybe he used to serve under him?), and there’s your connection back to Twilight Sparkle.
@thps48
Urk! Can you elaborate please,as far as i remember i didnt saw characters on tv creating a cybermob to silence whoever disagree or displease them or a character spewing maymay.
More seriously,can you give example ?
@Itsthinking
You’re not exactly innocent of the “problem”, either. I remember how someone had simply said that the colt First Base looks a lot like Flash Sentry, and kinda lost your shit and blew up on him. There wasn’t any actual drama, though. The colt had an orange coat and spiky blue hair, and actually looks kinda like Flash Sentry in miniature.
Sometimes, you’re so tense and primed for drama you overreact to it, even when there is nothing actually there.
