Though, Cel’s reaction would make more damn sense if their birth country was completely devoid of artificial alicorns such as Cadance and Twilight, since Celestia’s ability to turn earths, pegasi, and unicorns into alicorns must have originated from somewhere, unless she was the actual inventor of the alicornification spell. I meant when they first came to power. Luna certainly seems like a adult when she became Nightmare Moon, so a length of time must have passed. You need to fit Discord and Sombra into that timespan after all.

There’s no indication of the length of time that passed between the sisters being crowned in Equestria and Luna’s banishment. It could be hundreds of years.
your current filter.Sure neither are full canon, but both the Journal of Two Sisters and the comics clearly show Luna as not that much older than the CMC.
Though granted, the comics don’t really illustrate Celestia as being that much older. Still, I can see her at least as being over eighteen.

Actually given her age, Luna is a rather interesting player in this headcannon. Celestia was a young woman, but Luna was clearly a child. An issue with any theory about where the hell they came from really, why was Celestia traveling alone with her underaged sister?

Whatever writers get to write it decide it because anthing can just be resolved by ignoring previous events especially if they weren’t part of the show so it doesn’t really matter now I guess. It’s just more likely they are going to go for the being born thing.

People just looooove to obsess about conflicts in canon - real or imagined. Especially when it’s between the show, the movies, the comics, and the novels.

That could barely do it.
Seeing as it required the entire tribe to move such celestial objects, I think it’s harder than it looks.
But they had a sun and moon cutie mark so it would be their special talent to raise the sun and moon and they would have to do it. It’s what defines their entire personality and their names so it’s likely not something that just came along at some point. Unless they came from another dimension that would have a whole separate sun and moon that wouldn’t make sense. They would have to exist after the founding of Equestria taking over the unicorns jobs.

And the Mane Six aren’t the founders. It could be that it was Celestia and Luna’s parents that the flags is suppose to represent, but the ponies forgot about them, so it’s their daughters.
Or they stayed out of Pony business, and wanted to be left alone except for Celestia and Luna going to Equestria to help the ponies.
