Starlight’s only connection with Spike is Spike was the first person that wasn’t Twilight who actually genuinely cared about her and they got really close throughout the series. Though I’d consider them more as friends than a genuine ship.

Rarity is his first crush, Sweetie Belle is nearest his age, Ember is his own species, and I do not know what Starlight has at all. I already explained what makes Rare something he needs to get by. Sweetie or Ember would be best, but which one?

Different strokes for different folks. I’ve never understood him actually being paired up with Rarity, since I’ve always viewed his affections toward her as being nothing more than puppy love.

I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask but How mutch effects the dragon’s and the pony’s grander to the result of their crossbreeding?  
for example  
Sweetie Belle x Spike or  
Sandbar x Smolder.
