It doesn’t work in the US either. Cloudflare reports {host error}. That probably means the domain name hasn’t propagated thru the routing tables yet. I’d try again after a few hours.

Never had any issues with accessing tantabus. I’ve been going to the site a few times a day since this announcement. From Canada.

I hope what issues the rest of you are having, it can be fixed.

Are AI generated images still gonna be removed after today?

On the previous page of this discussion it was outlined that

I’m very happy with the direction of this new policy. Allowing AI as a tool but holding it to high standards feels like the perfect balance. Encouraging significant human involvement ensures these pieces still showcase genuine artistry. Non-pony boorus should take notes. This kind of thoughtful policy-making is something every community can learn from.

Hats off to the mods for tackling such a tough issue and making the site better for everyone.

I noticed a problem with the comments being imported from derpibooru to tantabus.

For many comments that were anonymous on derpi (posted by “background pony”) on tantabus there is added the user name of a person who initially posted that anonymous comment.

The only “background pony” comments without that are likely ones that were posted by someone who actually was logged off the site.

This creates a potential major problem for people who could be harassed later, for example if it’s about comments under NSFW images made anonymously from under account that person never wanted to associate with NSFW.

Also, there’s another thing to possibly consider (though not as big of an issue):

the automatic “synchronization” of profiles that makes a comment appear to be posted from an actual tantabus account, if the user name matches the one that was used to leave that comment on derpibooru.

Theoretically it’s possible that a new user created an account with that exact name before the original user from derpibooru could do it. Then the comments made by some person could result being under the account of someone else entirely. Not that high of a chance of course.

Another thing

I made an account on tantabus using the same name as my derpibooru account. The comments I made (even when made anonymously) are now attributed to my tantabus account. I can even edit such comments

I have made no connections at all between the two accounts.

Theoretically I could make an account with another derpi users name, and have their comments link to this new account, assuming this wasn’t done intentionally using ip-checks or other security measures

Yes.

It should have been done during the import so that if a person’s comment was marked as anonymous on derpi, it should be automatically marked as anonymous on tantabus, even if it’s connected internally to that user’s profile.

People’s desire to be anonymous for some comments should have been respected.

There’s actually no way to do so and be certain, as most people are behind NAT these days, so many people’s IPs would match.

Even if they fix the import for future images, it should also involve going through already imported comments and fixing those.

Hi, as a measure to resolve this as soon as possible the comments were deleted. The importer script is being revised by the Tantabus staff. It is unclear to me why the anonymous status of the comments was not respected (Tantabus and their staff should have had no access to this information to begin with), and why it was attributing comments to accounts with a similar name on Tantabus. I will be having a talk with the Tantabus staff.

AFAIK the data source is the Derpibooru nightly database dumps, so if that information is not meant to be exported, the database dump system needs review.
It was clarified in a reply that a special, non-public dump was used, and the public dumps do not have this issue.

I have identified the source of the information and it was resolved to never occur again.

To be clear - this was entirely our (Derpibooru’s) fault. To make it simpler for Tantabus staff to import comments, we have provided Tantabus with a data export for the purposes of their import. Said data export accidentally contained data it should not have (not taking anonymous flag on the comments into account), due to a Derpibooru sysadmin’s mistake. Tantabus staff had no knowledge of that fact. As soon as this was discovered, we have asked Tantabus to delete said data, which was done 6 minutes after our request. We will be asking Tantabus staff to rely on our public database dump, which strictly contains publicly-accessible information, going forward.

After thorough investigation, we have determined that no other private data was contained in the data export we have provided. To our knowledge, the situation was discovered and resolved in a timely enough manner, so we have no reason to believe that it has been used by any third parties, or that any risk or damages have occurred.

To prevent any future incidents, we have implemented new internal policies regarding data usage by our systems administrators, and reviewed the persons who have access to the data. We will also be considering implementing changes to Philomena database structure to make it impossible for a mistake like that to occur again.
