For too long democracy was put on a golden pedestal and it was hammered into us that democracy is good because it’s good. Not very many explained to the dumb masses that in order for democracy to be efficient the populace has to at least be educated and not gullible rubes. People are all too happy to give you their money and freedoms if you tell them what they want to hear and say it with enough confidence.

Not to mention that while Donald doesn’t genuinely believe in much, his faith in protectionism is one of the few things he does hold dear. As early as the late 80’s and early 90’s he was praising tariffs in interviews.

I think we could really do with a snack mix of varying systems of governance. Talking heads fearmonger about Socialism - but that’s the best path for things like healthcare. There might be some areas in which Libertarianism or Anarchism may offer the best path. Obviously, not every system of governance is a winner - Fascism obviously blows chunks, and Monarchism is rather crappy as well.

It’s about striking the right balance. We’ve taken some steps already, being a mashup of Constitutional Republic and Democracy. One Humpty Dumpty is out of office, it’s high time we start looking at the good things we can get from forms of governance that have benefits to them. And in remaining a Democracy, we would avoid dictatorial rule, unlike what has happened to other countries.

Step 1: Trump and team gone.
Step 2: A ton of work to fix the broken things in our system they exploited.
Step 3: Then we finally look at areas that might be able to be made better by taking the bits that do offer benefit from other systems.
Step 4: Profit.

So yeah that’s cool. Musk is now unilaterally cutting funding to entire faiths because of Twitter posts.

This is not what Separation of Church and State meant.

I read somewhere that if someone accesses the info without authorized approval they could face a fine of 5,000 dollars per infraction. This could lead to Musk accumulating a fine of 340 Billion dollars.
