This site looks best completely unfiltered, imo. Is it really so bad to see a tiny thumbnail of something you might not like yet?

Really though, the vast majority have no particular opinion about DB.  
Most people (even most fans) don’t know about it. Some use it, and a weirdly loud and angry minority have added it to their (massive and ever-changing) list of things that perpetuate grape culture and patriarchy.
 
Those of us who are fans of the site should advertise it to the masses, help users, create content that isn’t shit, and take 10 minutes out of every day to crush the spirits of hateful SJWs.  
Every little bit helps.

I am using a filter. What’s your point?

We have quite a bit more freedom to express our truest opinions of people’s are than most parts of the fandom. We face little threat of being blocked and censored for expressing opinions. Some people just don’t like to see any criticisms, and only want positive feedback to everything. Which is sad, actually. Because accepting criticism is a great way people can improve on stuff. And they wonder why people hate them so much.

Well, there is a difference between being an offensive jerk and a harsh yet critical and objective person. Of course, its easy to be a jerk and its really hard to be the later. But one can try.

If we’re the scumbags of the fandom I want to know who the judges are that awarded us that distinction, because so far as pony sites go this one has the community that makes me vow to destroy all life on earth the least often.

They go here to find things to be offended by and use it as reasoning for their pre-existing hatred of fans.
 
I’ve actually seen them say things like “Let’s all be adults and not link directly to 4chan” before, so they seem to be the truly evil place for them.

I’m pretty sure most of them ignore that Faust herself said the fandom wouldn’t exist without 4chan. In fact, I’m sure most of them either dislike the fact that she went there or dislike her in general. Not her creations, her and her politics.
 
What they (Tumblr users) fail to understand is that people do the opposite of what they want out of spite and in general just see them as a completely deluded group of people.
