Tbh I’m a little disappointed with the direction they took since the recent rewrite/redraw.
They’ve gone and shown god-level power and stuff so early now, and caused such a huge power trip with Saitama and Garou, going so above and beyond the first version of their fight in the manga, they had such a significant change of direction, seemingly trying to make it as ridiculous as possible, going so far as to inexplicably give Saitama literal god-powers and time-travel, its like they tried to give it some kind of ultimate conclusion so they can be done with it.
I was expecting time travel at some point, but not until much much later. and since the merge, it doesn’t look like Saitama immediately remembers any of the big fight, so that makes me question whether he’s still gonna have the power he developed, because we don’t want him to go casually time-travelling, that’d be too much of a fix-all.
There was that one tweet that suggests Murata is taking a break from working on the manga once they’re done with this arc, though ambiguous translations of the tweet made people think he’s actually finished working on the manga entirely, and with the way they’ve changed the outcome of this fight, I’m inclined to believe it.
