Nah if they were gonna kill him off, they wouldn’t have put so much attention on Saitama putting effort into keeping hold of his core. Plus they’re still roughly following the timeline and contents of the webcomic, and he’s just as important to the story as Saitama, so he isn’t going anywhere.

HOWEVER (webcomic spoilers)
Dr. Kuseno does die in the webcomic at some point MUCH later on, and I’m curious how they’re going to go about maintaining Genos when/if he gets damaged if the Dr isn’t around to repair him.

Tbh I’m a little disappointed with the direction they took since the recent rewrite/redraw.

They’ve gone and shown god-level power and stuff so early now, and caused such a huge power trip with Saitama and Garou, going so above and beyond the first version of their fight in the manga, they had such a significant change of direction, seemingly trying to make it as ridiculous as possible, going so far as to inexplicably give Saitama literal god-powers and time-travel, its like they tried to give it some kind of ultimate conclusion so they can be done with it.

There was that one tweet that suggests Murata is taking a break from working on the manga once they’re done with this arc, though ambiguous translations of the tweet made people think he’s actually finished working on the manga entirely, and with the way they’ve changed the outcome of this fight, I’m inclined to believe it.
