Given what we know so far about upcoming episodes, it’s safe to say no Celestia episode this season.
I’ve only seen episode synopsis up to 21 so far though. That leaves 3 more episodes.
And yeah, the finale too, but let’s face it, this season finale is far more likely about putting the whole Starlight redemption arc to rest. Tho I wouldn’t be too surprised if she (and/or Twilight) and Celestia have a little talk.
I’m glad to hear that Celestia’s screentime and importance in the movie has shifted from ‘none or maybe’ to ‘some or lots’ with the move from Sony to Lionsgate.
 
Those 3 episodes are Top Bolt, Where the Apple Lies and PPOV. Doesn’t sound like Celestia at all.
 
Didn’t they also said that the leaked movie content is rather fake or changed?  
If i were you i wouldn’t get my hopes up. It’s only ending in disappintment once again. Maybe it’s Celestia saying 3 words and Luna is doing all the cool things again. Or Cadance. That’s what i expect >.>

I’ll be perfectly honest, one of the key reasons why I stopped watching the show was how mistreated Celestia is.
 
Seriously, just look at her appearance chart in the MLP Wiki, after Season 2, she just disappears from the show. It’s like as soon as Twilight got her wings and Cadence got introduced, Celestia became completely obsolete.

I feel the same way and while I could do the same thing you’re doing, I’ve found other characters that I have taken a strong interest in, only for me to also bitch about their lack of frequent appearances.  
Why am I still watching the show though? Because it still made a big effect on my life and I’m too lazy to watch the other good & popular cartoons out there.

Didn’t the writers say they kept trying to propose a Celestia episode, but they all got rejected?
 
Rejected by whom? If it’s Hasbro, why even bother putting a Celestia figure out for the Guardians of Harmony toy series?  
Smells like another sorry excuse from the writers. Like cutting out the Celestia scene of Amending Fences. For what? For the unneccessary Pinkie Pie appearance? Isn’t anyone capable of throwing parties in Canterlot? Writers go home, you’re all drunk.

Actually Cadence became an alicorn before she met Princess Celestia, her transformation taking in her village after which she is transported to that astral plane where Celestial stumbled upon her.
 
Thus, for all intents and purposes, one can make the argument that the Celestia literally had nothing to do with Cadence becoming an alicorn.

You know, if they do give Celestia a big important part in the movie,  
and the movie is really good,  
it might just be enough to make up for the lack of Celestia in the show.
 
Would enjoy a movie heavily featuring the four adult alicorn princesses on some really high stakes exciting fantasy quest adventure thing, for example. Plenty of opportunity for Celestia there. :p
 
But really, as long as its great character development and screentime… but ESPECIALLY interacting with with the other alicorns (who SHOULD be having deeper involved interaction with her already anyway…).

Just to clarify, so that I’m not misunderstanding:
 
Was Celestia’s role in the movie really anything to do with the change of production/distributor companies?
 
I just thought I heard that one point of contention was how much of a role Celestia has, and DHX/Hasbro wanted to give her more.. or something?

I don’t usually mind Luna’s greater exposure in the show nowadays,  
but I was annoyed by her role as dream walker again, and getting a monologue in both dreams.  
Luna’s interactions with Starlight just felt terribly forced. You don’t need Luna in every dream. Seriously.
 
In comparison Celestia gets to say two diplomatic lines near the end. That’s it.  
Starlight having a meeting with Celestia would have been far more interesting and meaningful,  
considering Celestia is her teacher’s teacher.  
We were teased then denied them meeting in the ‘No Second Prances’ episode, though it made sense for that episode’s plot.  
Its just a shame it never happened during the finale instead.
 
Let me put it this way:  
If there was ever an episode(s) you could point at to show excessive bias in favor of Luna and against Celestia,  
in terms of representation and interaction, this season six finale would be it.
 
Starting to get truly annoyed by the sheer lack of Celestia.  
Season seven and the pony movie better deliver…
 
 
P.S.: I liked pretty much everything else about the s6 finale, though.

If Meghan or anyone else answers with a “Mayyybeeee?” again, my mind will answer with “Go fuck yourselves!” Seriously, time for fooling around is over. Don’t expect to get a laugh from me. Just a groan.
 
You can already forget the pony movie. Why would they do anything worthwile with Celestia in a movie where the casual watchers don’t even know the main actors? Starlight Glimmer and the Mane Six.
 
It’s hopeless. They rather turn Chrysalis into a Goodie and let her take all the spotlight, before they consider giving Celestia time to shine. Not even for once. In the contest of fan catering we got the shit end of the stick. I expect Trixie to appear in every third episode in season seven.

I’m surprised I didn’t think to share these videos in the thread earlier.  
They are compilation clips of all Celestia’s appearances from the first two seasons that I put together years ago.  
(Maybe I should reupload them on a more popular site like dailymotion ? )
 
Anyway though, this is closest to a ‘celestia episode’ you’re gonna get for now, heh.  
Well not counting good fan animations, of course!
 
It’s interesting seeing her role as teacher again, to compare with the greater amount of Teacher Twilight material we have nowadays.  
I’d enjoy having ‘freshly reviewed’ discussion in this thread after having rewatched this.

I like to think that the volume of ‘celestia episode please’ has grown much louder over the past couple seasons.  
The less the fanbase sees and knows of her in the show, the quieter the ‘omg celestia sucks’ seems to get and the louder the ‘omg let me just see who she is’ requests gets. This would be especially true of newer FiM fans that don’t have any baggage to work from her (comparatively) common appearances in earlier seasons.
 
Unless the movie intentionally involves Celestia as a MAJOR character, I am sure she will perform her fantasy-adventure ‘DM’ role quite well.  
I actually really enjoy the ‘NPC Quest Giver’ side of Celestia, it’s just that’s almost all we ever see of her nowadays.

Maybe my ‘Celestia compilation’ videos change that slightly,  
but when considering Fim material for past 2 seasons, this might be my biggest reason to want an actual episode.  
I already really like her, but people who dont want to go out of their way to check out bits of her earlier season material do have that reason not to care less.

I want Celestia to get more screentime but I also want to see Chrysalis reformed. Is that wrong?  
And I’m also tired of the writers not giving us full disclosure. They can’t expect us to be less annoying by telling us to fuck off.

I’ve been wondering if anyone on the internet would make a Celestia appearance compilation!  
Do you think you could create more videos on her appearances from the rest of the series including the EqG movies? She did get two songs after Season 2 after all.  
(How about Youtube? I could like and fave them for you.)
 
Celestia does her job of NPC Quest Giver quite well, its just I would give anything to see her take the job of playable hero in a future episode.
