With that out of the way, The way celestia and luna are portrayed here, competence issues aside, is pretty adorable.

This isn’t even something new.  
If you think about it, its basically the same as Spike just doing nothing when he and/or the ponies are faced with wild monsters, despite the fact that EG proved he could just blow a goddamn fireblast on their faces and that’d be it.

I actually don’t care.

Why wouldn’t all their magic be effected? Its bizarre to think that only telekinesis would be effected and not just all magic from their horn.
 
Now I’m not the most well versed in the Cthulhu stories but I seem to recall that in one of them he was put back to sleep by having a steam boat ram into him, so not even one of the most well known Lovecraftian Horror is completely invincible. There is also another issue to this story so I’m going to give it the full story before I start calling bullshit on everything, just like the previous arc.

It should technically be more than just a quarter of that, considering Twilight and Cadance (especially Cadance) are nowhere near th sisters in power.

Luna = 40%  
Twilight = 10%

more so the everfree should be lvoecrafting the fuck out of the minotaurs……… though if they had the forthought they could say that it is because of the tree that the forest is vulnerable right now. the tree recovering its power was sudden for the forest, and it is still recovering from that. sadly they probably havent’.
 
here is the thing, for the most part i really do like the comic. however it is has many large pratfalls here and there with the way the regal sisters are being treated and the everfree not being an eldritch abomination.
 
…. hell, why not have it be the whitetail woods that is acting strange here?

wasnt’ talking about reflections, and my issue with that was they should have isolated her outbursts and such in the flashbacks, and have her more somber in the present.  
that and they should have emphasize something along the lines of her basically having an emotional breakdown. this was all during a time where she was struggling with being a ruler, being isolated from her sister, eventually having to banish that same sisters, and there being a world she could escape to where she was not a ruler, and someone to love, and her sister is still untainted and safe.
 
they were too busy with humor to let drama set in.
 
the story did have high points though. ultimately that was a rather dark turn to a point. good king sombra forever corrupted and celestia unable to even attempt to try and help him.
