They grabbed each others arm. Put a joy buzzer on your finger nail, you’re still gonna feel it. The only part of a horse’s hoof they can actually feel is a small triangle in the middle called the frog.

Actually they do if you go beyond the hoof wall, which isn’t that thick. This is why you have to go to school or apprentice with someone who really knows their stuff to shoe horses, because it’s easy to injure them if you don’t know what you’re doing.

Guys, what the fuck is this, do you even horse anatomy?  
The hoof is neither completely solid nor marshmallowy soft, The entirety of the structure is, anatomically, a giant toe. The outer brim of the hoof is solid, it’s the nail, it’s the structure horse shoes are nailed into. On the inside it’s softer, the “frog” is a structure which cushions hoof impact and helps with blood flow in the legs.
 
Through the same logic that you can dig at something with your nails, but still have sensitive fingertips, the same can be applied here.
 
this picture is of course exaggerated as fuck, odds are the frog of the hoof isn’t going to be an erogenous zone, but it’s a cartoon talking pony, carry your “no fun allowed” signs elsewhere.  
(that pic of dash breaking wood is irrelevant as well, my ex took taekwon do and did the same with her feet, which were still ticklish)
