…Is anybody else just irritated that they used Alicorn Twilight’s abilities/equipment in such a non-linear fashion (like how she shouldn’t have actually been able to use the Element of Magic chronologically)?
Other than that, I had a blast watching the thing. Was fun to see them use ponies again.
That was honestly an unfair battle. Raven is FAR too OP, she kicked Trigon’s ass by herself and has destroyed a black hole. Twilight needed a temporary boost just to match Tirek.
In the specific scenario, it was the right outcome. They had Raven practically at the peak of her power (so far), vs. Twilight in a fairly normal condition. It may have worked out differently if she had the power of four alicorns at the time. Considering the Sun is ~333,000 times the mass of the Earth, and Twilight could swing it and the moon around at relativistic speeds, Twilight has shown far greater power than Raven, that one time. Even if we take it as she was just spinning the Earth, that’s still far more power than lifting half of Alcatraz Island. So, Tirek Battle Twilight vs. Raven I think could have come out with the opposite result. However, their styles are very different. Twilight is not a solo fighter, she’s a solo puzzle solver. Twilight’s main combat power comes from Friendship, which requires Friends. But the Mane Six vs. Raven isn’t Death Battle, even aside from the unfairness of six on one. Mane Six vs. Teen Titans, maybe. But that’s not Death Battle either. Plus it’s kind of unfair since the Elements will win. Twilight vs. Raven as she was in the original Teen Titans cartoon, that’s a little less of a foregone conclusion. But the really beloved “Teen Titans” show ended 12 years ago, so a lot of kids today don’t even likely know it. Ignoring everything about the Raven they’ve known since then would be a stretch, and would seem like they were deliberately crippling Raven just so Twilight would win, not that they picked her that way because it was her best incarnation.
Overall I think they reached the right outcome, given what they had to work with at this point in time.

Nah. RD is great flyer and you’re seriously underestimating her experience and skills. The fight was done correctly and the facts were well researched. Starscream didn’t lose because he ‘is the most hated character in the entire franchise’. He lost because he had the inability to match a pony that could reach speeds of mach 10 and survive smashing into the ground at that speed:
Also her size, compared to Starscream’s, made accurate targeting harder than normal and his null ray didn’t work due to her not being a transformer and organic matter, which is what he would be used to fighting/dealing with.
And the only reason you’re even complaining about her victory is because you evidently hate RD, as shown by your comment history.
“Raven has a pocket dimension, supersonic flight, the ability to scramble your brains, a magical crow demon familiar, and basically Satan for a dad.”
“Twilight has the power of friendship.”
…This should be fun.
Twilight has traveled through time, crossed dimensions, reversed gravity, made her entire town obsessed with a child’s toy, kept a dragon as a companion, and has an immortal being with the power to move the sun as a teacher.
@FLUTTERBADASS
I wish I can like a comment. Those battles are basically just comparing fantasy powers, and obviously one will win over the other if it has largely exaggerated powers.
I still admire how the Equestrian land didn’t just sink down to the lava after that huge hit, though.
I think Twilight is still alive she just unconscious in a pony shape hole.
Their should be a crater not a pony shape hole after the impact.
One more thing Raven play with My little pony toy, she should react differently like suprise to see an actual pony infront of her because she love pony not start a fight because a pony saw her playing with toy pony.
Other than Pinky vs Deadpool all of the MLP related death battles are complete mismatches and totally inaccurate especially Rainbow vs Starscream I mean seriously if that fight was based on facts Dash would have died mere moments after the fight began the ONLY reason why RD won was because she’s beloved while Starscream is the most hated character in the entire Transformers franchise.
@Background Pony #6CE4
Actually, the Death Battle had them both voiced by Kira Buckland. But the point still stands: who wants to hate good ol’ Rina-Chan?
To all you who want to complain that twi didn’t win remember both are voiced by Tara Strong, meaning whatever fact you got isn’t wrong just your hate is flawed because really who wants to hate Tara Strong
According to the commentary, they deliberately left it ambiguous whether Twilight actually died or was just squashed for a bit. They also deliberately toned down the violence for this one in case there were any little girls finding the video by searching “My Little Pony” on YouTube.
I mean, with how it ended up, it’s clear that Twilight’s overall strength and magic was just a bit inferior to Raven’s, and that was with only her own and no friends. She’s the real powerhouse of the squad; keep everyone else safe and get the friendship magic stuff going, whatever it’s called these days, and you have power that was more than literally every pony’s power combined as well as Tirek’s added in.

I think they both put them in a match because the raven from teen titans go play ponies & same voice actor
Not gonna lie, what i see about raven, twilight all by herself, there was no way plus Raven’raven was super amazing powerful & super fast
Some of the comments section on that video seems to be that way, though.
Seriously, one of the comments was “Yay, a pony finally lost!”.
I don’t think that was the intention of the episode.
Overall I think they reached the right outcome, given what they had to work with at this point in time.

Yes, it should be fun.
“Twilight has the power of friendship.”
…This oughta be good.

That, and Starscream is pretty much the butt-monkey of G1 Transformers.

And then there’s the underwear commercial with a huge bulge.
Oh. That does make sense.
