But calling me ignorant ans having an attitude when my point is clearly there is rather rude, and frankly I couldn’t care less for your reasoning because of that.
They don’t look done to me and having another pastel horse race just seems lazy.
At least when they took insperation from bluebottle flies they looked interesting and changed the feeling of the show.
Now they just exist.
That’s a nice opinion you got there, too bad it’s just that.
The block colors are there to make the character models work with the style of the show. And in my opinion it doesn’t take away from their beetle-like appearance. Honestly just the shiny shells of thier carapace is enough to identify them as beetle-like, for me.
And compare the cohesion in the patterns of the actual insect to the block coloring of the ’lings.
They have beetle colors, they do not look like beetles.
They do. This beetle, in particular, the Rainbow Stag is what Thorax’s design is entirely based off of.
Insects get ridiculously colorful just like pastel horses, you know. Believe me you’re welcome to dislike the exact color pallets all you’d like but saying or implying that they don’t resemble insects is just ignorance. Their designs did have a source, whether or not it was well-received doesn’t change that fact.

I’ve no problem with the design.
It’s the why and the use of the same bright pastels of the ponies.
They could’ve kept some traits from te original design and used more iridescent hues or even pattern the colors properly and made them actually look like beetles, but instead we got whats in essence ponies who swam in a rainbow with with bug tails.
People are slowly starting to accept them a little bit more.
Says a lot of people.
The skittle bugs are just another pony, not really their own thing at this point design wise because thwy aren’t even that insectile save the elytra and wings.
Pssh. Opinions.
