Ah, faith. It’s a two-sided coin.  

As a Christian myself, I’ve always strongly identified with redemption and the saving power of love.
 
Indeed on the current topic, the a story of Malcom X has always been inspiring to me, a man driven by (very understandable) hatred, who eventually found true solace in peace and understanding (and died a martyr to those ideals).

I know. I’m from Sacramento, and I’ve given speeches at the capitol steps since I was in middle school. I was even downtown (coincidentally) during stabbings at the white nationalist rally a while back. As far as I’m concerned, racists, fascists, sympathisers, and those who enable them are human filth who have no place in society. It’s sad that some believe that’s a controversial belief to hold.

Most people are completely unaware that the modern gun control movement was quantifiably founded on racism and classism; California’s current (laughably ineffective) Prohibition culture came as a direct result of the Black Panthers open carrying rifles, pistols, and shotguns around the State House in Sacramento as part of their campaign to counter-intimidate the Jim Crow supporters who were trying to prevent Black voters from reaching the polls, and the wave of gun control legislation across left-leaning states in the ’70s was spearheaded by affluent White suburbanites terrified by the thought of poor urban Black people arming themselves and demanding to be treated like actual human beings.

Funny how people are never taught about how Republican Jesus himself Ronald Reagan banned guns in California once African Americans began to arm themselves or the 160+ subsequent race riots in 1967. Nope, all you need is love folks. And if that doesn’t work, weaponize love.  
 

In the meantime having some guns laying around totally helps in keeping the enemy from liquidating you before that point.
