A lot of people do that as an alternative to self-improvement. It’s easier to lavish praise upon yourself for something than to actually think about how you’re acting.
“For you, the day I trolled your topic was the most important day of your life. But for me? It was Tuesday.”
-Lumino
Pretty much yeah.
I’m afraid if I unsubscribe people will talk about me behind my back
Assume they are anyway, then revel in the knowledge that you have so much power over someone else’s life that they keep talking about you even when you’re gone.
I’m afraid if I unsubscribe people will talk about me behind my back.
@TexasUberAlles
Shit, that’s good.
Plus, it sets the ground for my Terminator crossover fanfic.
Ah.
I’m always worried if I unsubscribe someone will say something I should have seen.
… What?
No I’m too paranoid to do that.
Then unsubscribe.
Alright we’re done then.
@Darth Sonic
That’s not what I meant goddamn it of course you can build up that sort of stuff but don’t act like you can tell someone how to do things it’s my choice to debate the way I want to and normally I don’t debate like that I’ve been under a lot of stress lately and it’s starting to take a toll but they could have at least not talked down to me like they automatically know better and call others trolls for having a different opinion.
Now everyone please stop responding to me I don’t want to talk on this thread.
Oh God, it’s the stupid “nothing said on the Internet counts!” meme again. The idea that you can’t develop expectations or get to know someone based upon interactions on the Internet because their not in person. As if we all magically become the joker when our hands touch the keyboard, becoming completely divorced from consistency and predictability.
Look, if you see PonyPon post in a the comments section of a Twilight or discord picture, or you see a Whatev’s post in a thread about politics, do you truly have no expectations of what they’ll post? No concept of their beliefs and personality based upon Internet interactions?
You’re right that Internet interaction will never have quite the personal effect of face to face interactions. No body language, and the fact that one can hide behind anonymity and all that jazz. But the idea that one can’t have expectations and standards for Internet contacts is stupid. People don’t suddenly stop have behavioral patterns that one can model when they are on the Intertubez, regardless of what 4Chan says.
I’m afraid I didn’t (and still don’t) see where he was being rude or a jackass. Certainly his typing could use a little work, but that isn’t a crime. He was pointing out flaws in your view/logic.
Look, this argument is done. Let’s not start up a new on, yeah? Let’s all take the lessons we’ve learned and go our separate ways.
And while I do not know you in real life, I’ve seen you around here enough to know you’re usually solid in an argument. I can only judge you based on what you show.
-Lumino
Gonna have to stop you right there friend I didn’t see you call them out for acting like a jackass which was the whole reason I was having trouble accepting there argument in the first place so yes you are pulling your punches.
And saying you expect better from me? I don’t know you and you don’t know me don’t expect anything from me you’re not my father (gods you better not be I hate him) and you’re not my mother (hate her too) and you’re not my grandmother and if you are then get off the internet grandma and stop backseat typing.
I don’t pull punches. If someone is acting like a child, I’ll call them on it. And I expect the same to be done against me, since I’m just as capable of becoming overly emotional and not listening to reason as the next guy.
The issue is resolved, we’re all cool here. Now we move on to bigger and better things, and wherever the next debate will take us.

About this and the heated discussion herein that followed - Geez, maybe this rushed and too-many-writers-too-few-cohesion show just ISN’T VERY GOOD (anymore, though not bad or unwatchable) and is not worth the headache of serious analysis and fights over interpretation.
Okay I will concede, to be honest their tone was just making it hard for me to accept their argument they should have been more civil about it but yeah I guess in a way they do make sense.
Also don’t ever speak to me like a child again and we’ll get along just fine kay thanks.
Seriously, dude? I usually agree with you, but his post was full of direct quotes and reasonable leaps of logic. You can’t just stick your fingers in your ears and proclaim yourself right.
Here are the facts:
-That TWILIGHT, the bearer of the Element of Magic, can cast a spell does not mean it is ‘simple’ and that ‘any unicorn could do it’. As early as Boast Busters we are told that Twilight’s command of magic is exceptional, even among ponies that went to Celestia’s School.
-The Starswirl the Bearded Wing was locked, as Kibate noted.
That’s a rather impressive lock for a room that is ‘open to the public’.
-As for the ‘extending’ spell bit, that’s easy. We don’t know how magic works in Equestria, so we can’t say how difficult something is. But Twilight does live in Equestria, and she does know how magic works. Therefore, when she expresses disbelief in what was does, it confirms that the action was exceptional.
I expected better from you Pagan. I’m giving this round to Kibate.
-Lumino
Heh, I’ll admit, that does sound like a pretty cool season finale. :)
Just because you declare something wrong doesn’t make you right if you don’t want to try and discuss things in a civil manner that’s your prerogative but don’t expect me to take you seriously after.
“without backing them up with any evidence.”
ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
Holy crap, all of what you said is wrong, all of it. I … i can’t even…this is a troll, right? It has to be, i REFUSE to believe anyone is this out of their mind!
I think you’re making a lot of assumptions without backing them up with any evidence.
I saw no indication it was off limits to the public.
And yet Twilight herself did that spell (I know she’s op but given your quote she shouldn’t have been able to do it and doesn’t seem to remember herself doing it).
No not really she extended the time of it that’s all if she had created the spell in the first place I’d be impressed yes but as it is now not very impressive not that it matters that’s not what we’re discussing we’re discussing Sunburst being impressed by time travel in general not the specific thing Starlight did to it that he doesn’t even know about.
Then explain Cadance in that theory you just gave.
First off, i never said “no one is allowed” when you talk in a discussion like this, be careful what words you choose, because otherwise it would cause unnecessary misunderstandings. What i did say was “it is not public”. And i say that because it had a freaking lock, one that a royal guard had to open! And what spike DID say was “it is not illegal to WALK AROUND canterlot” and twiligiht said the starswirl the bearded wing is, i quote “the most secure section of archives”
You want a quote? Okay, i do that: “Spike, only starswirl the bearded could do something like that[in reference to time travel] and even his spell just went back a week. How could Starlight do more than the greatest wizard in Equestria?”
“She only increased the amount of time she could travel back I’d hardly call it “IMMENSELY””
From one week, one time use, for one minuet….to WHENEVER SHE WANTS, for as long as she wants, for however many times she wants, to any place in equestria. You do NOT call this immensely?
We don’t know how Alicorns are exactly being made, Celestia was very vague about that. Not only that, she used her wisdom of artifacts(the scroll and the map) to do that, she didn’t exactly cast it “herself”. ALSO, when twilight gained alicorn status, celestia used a spell on her, meaning alicornhood needs to be done by someone else, which of course Starlight never gotten.
Where does it say no one is allowed in the canterlot library? Spike even says it’s not illegal and that they don’t need to sneak around.
You’re going to have to link that quote cause I just watched the finale and at no point does she say only Starswirl could travel in time.
She only increased the amount of time she could travel back I’d hardly call it “IMMENSELY” if had been altered so greatly she would be an alicorn right now.
