Hm…
How would the
pegacorn
and winged unicorn
tags be treated? The first may likely be the obvious (but then alicorn
covers both bat wings and pegasus wings), but the latter can be much more broad in definition. Background Pony #52BA

Several of the posts tagged “winged unicorn” look just like whoever did the tagging didn’t know about the tag “alicorn” (ie. it’s Celestia or Luna) and ironically several of them appear to be wingless anthros (although without the tag “wingless anthro”)

What even is a pegacorn? Is this some kind of “You are on this council, but we do not grant you the rank of master” situation where an alicorn is extra-special?

As far as I know, a pegacorn is as its name implies a fusion between pegasus and a unicorn (making it a type of alicorn, as normal bat ponies don’t count as pegasi while horned bat ponies count as alicorns).

Lore-wise, an alicorn is a combination of earth pony, pegasus, and unicorn, each of which has its own unique magical abilities. “Winged unicorn” (aka “pegacorn”) I’ve always understood to mean a pony that has the pegasus and unicorn parts but not earth pony - I want to say I’ve seen some OCs that were meant to be this. They’re distinct from alicorns but may look visually identical more often than not.
