A Priest, a Cat, and a Byakhee Walk into a Burger Joint...: WORLD'S FAIR (IC THREAD)

Our heroes are on a train to the city of Coltlumbia, their friend Bright Idea has purchased tickets for them, and they’re on their way. But why have none of them heard of this supposedly shining city? And what exactly is the Highlight of this World’s Fair?

what is this coltlumbia exactly?

“I really have no idea,” said Bright Idea. “I have just as much knowledge of where we’re going as you do - which is to say that we’re going to a place called Coltlumbia for the World’s Fair. I mean, what a privilege! They only hold this thing once every fifteen years!” He got up and paced around the dining car where he and Byakhee Pony sat. “There’s going to be ponies from all over, with all kinds of fantastic innovations!”

“eehh. i hope it doesnt get too complicated. i feel strage with to much tech. the damn migo always acting haughty” said byakhee as finished his pork he had ordered.

“I’m sure it won’t be that bad. I find most Equestrians to be positively congenial compared to you space-folk.” He raises a defensive hoof hastily. “No offense.”

“none taken. the claws and sharp teeth aren’t exactly comforting. but we shall see what happens here.” the beast states

“Soooooo…… why should I care about a fair, or whatever?”  
, HamburgerTime asked.

“It’s exciting is all,” Bright replied. “Surely you’re a fan of gadgets! And there’ll be music, and good, and merry-making…” Bright grinned ear to ear.

“what about food? cause i love good food,” the byakhee stated like it was an unknown fact

Sounds boring”.

“All kinds! Fruits, and ciders, and sandwiches out the ears! Pastries and pies and scrumptious cakes galore!” the priest babbled eagerly.

“oh boy! now i cant wait!” the bug exclaimed.

Bright Idea moped. “Oh don’t be such a fuddy-duddy, Ham! I’ve heard there’s going to be some impressive new military tech on display too, if that helps at all.”

“oh thats ussualy fun too.” the byakhee said

“Hmmm. That might be a little interesting.”  
Time admitted.

“thats the spirit man.” byakhee said.

Bright Idea sighed happily and sat down, looking out into the chasm below the train tracks. “So, what’s the story behind your name, Hamburger?”

“I’m surprised they let me take my machete on the train”, HamburgerTime said as he felt the big knife at his belt.

“i kinda wish i had a knife, but i like my claws,” said the beast flexing his claws.

Bright Idea looked over and raised an eyebrow. “Well, it’s not like we need to worry about surprise attacks that much, or dangerous killers… I mean, I guess the Capitol was just attacked by Changelings… But what are the chances of that happening again?”

He looked back out the window. “Seriously though, your name has nothing to do with your special talent. Did the oracle just screw up?”

“i dont know, but wjen peolle say stuff like that, things tend to go wrong, and besides, with canterlot weak, now would be an opportune tome to strike,” the abomination reasoned

(To Idea) “Well, my parents named me after a Dethklop joke. In the show, the band suddenly becomes afraid of dieing, so use the term ‘Hamburger Time’ as an innuendo for ‘death’.

“that makes sense to me, when your dead, you get turned into tasty meat,” the byakhee analzyed

“So… A heavy metal band gaining a fear of death? Well if that doesn’t flippin’ beat all.” Bright idea shook his head. “So your name basically means Death? Kinda weird, but neat.”
