Well he did try and buy the NFL back in the 90s or so. Failed of course. So he pulled a “Blackjack and Hookers”. And that failed too.
But it turns out it was cheaper to just (let someone else) buy the government and gain de facto control that way.

Do you think the Democrats are ever going to win again? Or does America need a third party system? If you ask me I think America needs a third party. The American people are looking at the Republicans and thinking that they are the ones now who will be able to fix everything while in reality that is not true at the very least. Which bothers the shit out of me.
Trump is going to lead America into a cold dark path and so far, it looks like he is succeeding on doing so because he is getting way with every single thing.

That’s actually not a bad idea. It costs like 5 cents or so for every penny to print, literally more than they are worth. This is also an idea that’s been floated around since the 90s.
I’m sure there’s an economist who can explain why this is a bad idea but I’ve spent my whole life being lead to believe that there are only positives to phasing out the penny.

Ok, assuming that coins eventually leave circulation, it’s only a matter of time before a 7% sales tax causes further price hikes and before it becomes almost impossible to charge amounts not divisible by 5¢.

At the Fed’s stated target rate of 2%, cash has a half-life of 35 years. At the historical average of 3%, it’s 23.5 years. The last time the U.S. discontinued a coin for being too small was the half-cent in 1857, almost 170 years ago. (Five half-lives at 2%.) The penny is worth less now than the half-cent was then. Its retirement is long overdue.
But I have a hard time believing this is the sort of thing a President can do by executive fiat. If Congress actually gave a shit about their phony-baloney jobs, they might want to start asking questions.
