The anti-trans organization “Do No Harm” has done great harm by releasing a database flagging hospitals that offer gender-affirming care (NOT sex reassignment surgery, contrary to anti-trans claims) to youth. Already children’s hospital staff are receiving violent threats. The goal is to use stochastic terrorism to cow healthcare providers into ceasing offering these services to trans youth.

Protect trans kids. Now and forever.

The irony of a literal terrorist organization being called “Do No Harm” is seriously disgusting.

You just know that they have an asterisk at the end, “Exceptions very much apply”.

It is worth remembering that appointing members of the opposing party to cabinet positions was the norm for both parties for decades, going all the way back to FDR who appointed two prominent Republicans to his cabinet in 1940 (secretary of war and secretary of the Navy). Trump and Biden have been the exceptions to that. Although Biden might as well have appointed a Republican, since his not doing so was soundly ignored by the left like most everything else he did or tried to do for them.

More to the point though, a promise to put someone who is almost certainly not going to be a deranged cultist in an advisory position us undoubtedly an attempt to pull in some of the same center-right voters who dislike Trump that helped Biden win in 2020.

Hillary should have just gone into obscurity. Spineless democrats don’t win, those with some backbone do. Harris should stand her ground on tackling price gaugers since it forces republicans to defend the practice. Being anti-corporate will get you smeared but it will also get you elected.

Israel is a little pest.

Even though Trump was actually beneficial for Europe. His ill thought out tariffs and impulsive decisions chased out companies, most famously Harley-Davidson and many went to Europe. Meanwhile Biden’s economic policies has increased America’s economic lead over Europe and taken away several companies.

To me though it’s interesting that Japan is so close. Considering they really can only lose with Trump. Europe is strong enough on it’s own to take on Russia but Japan is not strong enough to take on China.

That’s because most foreign nationals from developed countries (with maybe the exception of Israel who’s heavily reliant on US aid) judge the US president based on their values, not on what his policies did for their own country.

Also, pretty sure I’ve read somewhere that a good fraction of the Japanese people have a weird fascination for Trump IIRC (one that can’t entirely be explained away by the prevalence of the nationalist sentiment over there).

Though Harris is going further and further right alienating people. I don’t think it’s entirely their fault if Harris makes bad decisions during the campaign. Having right wing talking points for Harris is nothing but a liability cause she will never be to the right of Trump on anything. She needs to go left of him since that’s a place he can’t follow. The best example is the border cause no matter how tough she is on it Trump will accuse her of “open borders” regardless. Harris needs popular policies like higher minimum wage and nationalization of healthcare, things Trump can’t do and also things he can’t attack her on. Trump can’t outright state “I want people to be paid less” or “I want people to pay more for healthcare” so the only thing he can do when Harris goes left is go left too which alienates his base.

Wow, who knew that it’s easier to convince people disillusioned from their party than those that have dug their heels in and are refusing to budge because “it’s never enough/ too late.”
I wouldn’t be surprised if the Harris campaign had that realization.

I was once pretty far left, and to be sure I still am well left of the center.

But I swear to fuck that horseshoe theory is more and more valid these days.

In surprised any of them have noses left after the amount of metaphorical self-mutilation going on.

It’s like if a candidate doesn’t perfectly align with their worldview, they go full tunnel-vision and decide “welp may as well let the world burn”. The narrow single-mindedness is frankly fucking moronic. There comes a point where you become so zealous that rather than fixing things, you become one of the reasons it’s broken.

For what it’s worth, most far-left people I know personally, for as loudly as they curse Harris and the Democrats, still plan to vote for them (if they’re in swing states) and are trying to get the others to do the same. The only ones who are doing otherwise are the extremely online PSL and Green Party dipshits who seem to think that Republicans getting their dictatorship will radicalize people left faster.

No, the actual outcome will be it being almost impossible for us to organize, most leftists being jailed, and the general public acclimatizing to the new status quo after the first year or two. In established fascist regimes, daily life goes on, acts of heroism are few and far between, and the only reward for those acts is death.

Better to prevent it from consolidating power in the first place.

In the beginning they did it right but now they seem to want to court republicans which really is a foolish thing to try. Republicans who think logically will vote for Harris if she goes left cause it’s in their own best interest to do so. Those that don’t think logically will vote for Trump no matter what. Trying to convince them she doesn’t want “open borders” or that she isn’t a “communist” is futile cause they are so deep in their echo chamber they will believe that no matter what.

Biden had a harsher border policy than Trump did yet Trump and the propaganda network still convinced people of the lie of “open borders”. I think that should have taught Harris that trying to change that narrative is pointless. Don’t try to beat Trump at his own game, try to force Trump to play yours. Try pushing positions where he can’t take a contrarian stance against. If you set yourself up against the oligarchy that means Trump either has to back down or openly stand in support of the oligarchy.
