In a sense you guys are. I mean, apparently being an atheist means you’re a socialist, furry, all around degenerate, and lover of third world diversity

I believe in my own God.  
One that doesn’t fuck things up like others.

In all honesty I am really afraid of being cornered and attacked for my beliefs or lack of beliefs.

Everyone still expects me to be the same religion, but that’s not true anymore. For now, I’m just acting the part in public so no one would ask.

I really find the fact that they execute people for leaving their religion sad.  
Islam is doing a fine job for dismantling my liking.

For one thing, this God doesn’t have a gender so I can call “he” or “she” no problem. Another is the concept of karma that I follow.
 
Also, the right to be true to oneself. Meaning, you can join and leave if you like without any consequences as God doesn’t care of religion, he cares of moral ethnics.
 
My God isn’t about “good vs evil” bullshit. No, my God is about balance. For every good, there is a bad and for every bad, there is a good. Balance must be maintained and excess of either one can lead to catastrophe.
 
There’s also gender equality but not individual equality. As in, you can be a guy or a girl but if you want something, you have to prove yourself that you deserve it. No one gets freebies unless they deserve it. For poor or homeless people that’s proof enough that deserve help but they must continue proving their worth by trying to be a better individual.
 
I like the concept of chivalry and honor. It gives us the idea on how to be a better human being without being restricted by religion.
 
I also believe in aliens as because if God were to make the Universe so vast and we can get extinct so easily while being the only sapient race, then our destruction would mean the end of everything.
 
Heaven and Hell is less of eternal judgement and more on temporary relief to me. Like, a thief can go to Hell but if he or she truly is sorry about it, not because of the punishment but because of the guilt and morality, he’s allowed to try again in the real world and be a better person. For a person in Heaven, if the act like dicks, they get banished and try again.
 
I look up to prophets because I believe that they want to make their community better. The difference between Jesus Christ and Muhammad is that the latter lived a long life to the point that he can question himself while the other lived a short life where he can continue believing himself.

That used to be a fashionable thing for Christians to do back in the old days. Not anymore thank God. Christianity went through so many reforms. Why is it that Islam is still largely…. how should I put this… medieval? If any Muslims happen to be reading this. Feel free to correct me. I do not intend to offend anyone here.

Well, there is a reason I dislike Abrahamic religions in general.

No offense. I was just turned off the big monotheistic religion because my values are too different.  
I don’t intend to attack it or anything.

It breeds a sense of ambition and morale. However, too much of it which unfortunately often happens breeds bigotry.  
I still love Abrahamic religions. Just not the shitty politics that keep fucking it up nowadays.

They have good points, of course. But the fact that blood flows out of the holy books, the concept of hell and other things make me feel “meh” about the subject.

I think the fact that it’s not permanent helps it. Human psychology got to a point that we know that punishment isn’t really working. I mean my great grandfather was beaten until his ribs broke but he didn’t started believing in the “true ways”. ha ha Of course that was more of the soviet style law system at work.

I actually don’t really get the concept of “punishment”, myself. How does a second wrong make a right?
 
One of the facets I kinda like about Mormonism - it doesn’t submit to the Nicene Creed - in fact it outright says it’s not canonical at all, and disagrees with it in many respects. One of those things is that God doesn’t punish so much as we reap the consequences of our own actions.

I really like a lot of those points. Also, sounds like a good reason to move to somewhere safer to me, heh… That just seems really messed up to me. I’d rather an atheist world than one where religion makes you fear for your life.
 
I like your ideas, though. Dunno about the balance and good and evil thing. Mormon theology - one part I kinda like and find interesting - is that Free Will is more sacred than righteousness itself, so, because of that, evil will naturally occur, but it’s not fundamentally required at all.

Actually if I think about my “animism”, it just makes me more confused. How can I believe such a thing.
