According to comments in that thread, it was some photographer who complained the squirrel was being “exploited” by the owners. She’s since deleted all of her social media accounts.

Some important context is missing to that story. Peanut’s owner is an antivaxxer who refused to vaccinate his pets for rabies, and that was part of the anonymous complaint. Peanut was put down because he bit the responding animal control officer, and when an unvaccinated, non-domesticated animal bites someone, it is standard procedure to euthanize the animal to test for rabies. It’s a tragic development and I’d rather the squirrel have lived, but this was predictable.

There’s a very specific type of person that Peanut and Fred’s content catered to, and they’re the only ones making this into a martyr story. Just saying.

Also pretty sure that we shouldn’t be doing calls to action against people, even if you’re upset at them.

His OnlyFans subscribers? Seriously I’d never heard of this guy/squirrel, it’s like the meme about how every day there’s a new youtuber with 20mil followers exposed for whatever thing.
