Windows update locking people out of their computers
The update forces Windows into restarting in the Bitlocker recovery screen, and people who forgot, or don’t have a key to unlock it are completely screwed. I checked my 2 computers, and both say Bitlocker is stopped, and must be ran manually (i don’t remember setting it up when I made this desktop), so I’m not sure if i’m ok or not. I have no keys backed up to my Microsoft account (and I couldn’t anyway because my free Onedrive account is full, and I’m planning on unlinking this PC from it because I’ve had it with Onedrive).

Luckily, I use the Home edition of Windows 11, so I have nothing to worry about.

So is my bro’s laptop.

The property owners don’t want the franchise operators renting their buildings to diminish the value by overdeveloping and locking in the property as “just a McDonalds”, so that if the franchise fails, someone else can come over and set up a Taco Bell within a month with minimal work/cost.

As a child I fondly remember going to a McDonald’s that was a converted from a pub, it had solid wood booths with stained glass dividers, a beautiful ornate ceiling with stained glass lights, old artwork depicting promotional material for The Rescuer’s toys.

They “refurbished” it and now it’s the same as every other mundane branch.
