Yes, it seemed before the age of “political correctness”, there was a lot more fun being had by all. I’m embarrassed to be not that much different age-wise to these loony bins.
 
(I actually had a lot of misconceptions about MLP from watching G3 when I was little, and only until more recently when I went through the older stuff did I have a lot of those misconceptions cleared up. I can’t believe was diabetes-filled shows I was fed as a little girl. Ever moreso, I can’t believe PP wants to actually hold onto that diabetes stuff. Yeesh. )

Do you mean oh–god–furries? Yeahhh, they and theshitbroniesdo have both been very hypocritical in their “anti-brony” blog ways of actually supporting PP. (Theshitbroniesdo used to make fun of her, now because of Mod Thomas and Mod BitchPuddin’ it’s like a PP fap-fest. Even though Pinkiepony is a brony herself, and a hypocritical one at that.)
 
Also, I think TF has it somewhere, but at one point Pinkiepony let her followers spread hate on a bad OC blog, then didn’t care about the repercussions. (But the Mods liked Pinkiepony, so they took the hypocritical follower abuse.)

Same here. I used to despise this franchise with a passion. I mocked it on every opportunity I had. I did not know about G1 until I’ve learned about FiM. The first thing I’ve noticed about FiM that set it aside from the G3 sugarcoat, was that it had action, adventure, world building, dangers, and great character development. I was in a disbelief that this was a MLP show. Even more so, when I discovered G1.

Also, Bhaalspawn is trying to act smart again.

Sadly, I wish I had been on that side of opinion when I got into G4. I’m even more embarrassed to say I used to share the “but G3 wasn’t this action-y! What is this?” opinion Pinkiepony had. (Heck, once I saw Big Mac I was like “There are boy ponies now??? Huh. That’s a first,” even though it really wasn’t.) But after a few episodes, I started liking the action and adventure. It was a refreshing change, and it was written more to a level that could be tolerated by more than just 5 to 7 year-olds. I’m glad I changed my mind, and I’m glad I didn’t let myself become a bitter childhood preserver like PP.

His justification of foalcon is fucking incredible though. I’m pretty sure there wasn’t ever a disney movie of two children, one pegging down the other, about to kiss. I want him to name a disney movie in the past couple decades that’s done that. With school-age children.

Tenafly is the DWM movement’s whipping girl. Especially when she alerted people to a scam and some people called her “creepy” and a “stalker.”

Pffft, I remember that drama. They got mad because one TSBD Mod said on FF that Derpibooru was “fucking awful” or sthm. Which is funny, considering everything here is tagged so neatly and modded very well. Yeah, we’re not perfect, but we’re not “fucking awful” either. There are definitely worse sites.

That is one of THE main reasons why DWM was ridiculous. Either you agree with them 100%, no question. Or you’re against it and be painted as the “worst possible person alive”. It’s futile to reason with them. A good chunk of them are ignorant teens who think they know all about the world, which they likely don’t.

On the other hand, Tumblr has some really awesome stuff, and it’s an awesome platform for starting webcomics and getting them some great exposure.
 
It’s horrible for any kind of discussion–it’s not geared towards actual communication, but instead more “listen to what I have to say,” so that makes it ideal for people who’s ideas would be shot down by a sane discussion/debate in ten seconds flat.
 
Something like APM (which I really liked), or the hundreds of other awesome Ask blogs out there would have a tough time existing elsewhere. It’s really an awesome platform for someone who wants to tell a story and maybe have some minimal interaction included.
 
That’s what makes SJW bullshit so prevalent there, however–they can literally just blot out any criticism they receive, cherry-pick what goes on their blogs, and quite easily make something that would emotionally sway many people to their cause.
 
What makes it even easier is that, since most people make blogs to be about their own thing, and not about someone else’s thing, they often don’t want to clutter up their own blog calling out the rampant bullshit they see.
 
In a face-to-face discussion, or on a forum or even image board, they would not get away with any of that stuff so easily. First of all, people would actually be more apt to call them out on their shit. Secondly, the calling out would be just as visible as their bullshit. They’d not be able to use the same “discussions” as on Tumblr.
