It would be good to say that the site is an archive, and will host all legal content. The opinions reflected by the existence of these images on the booru does not necessarily reflect those of the administration, userbase at large, or the uploader.
The thing is, that description is exactly what the site is, and the people who spread our reputation as a wretched hive of scum and villainy aren’t known for their rationality. To them, we’re a convenient punching bag. The rules of the site could change to crack down on every problem they have with us and they’d still call us pedophillic rape apologists because they want an enemy and that is us.
The only cure to my mind is time and a lack of response. Eventually the “Derpibooru is for assholes” brigade will get bored and find something new to hate, because their appetite for accusing other people of being worse than Hitler is insatiable.
