I wonder if this shit actually backfires on them–like if Ask Princess Molestia, instead of losing followers or being shut down, actually GAINS followers that previously didn’t know about it. Or Mutton Bash, for those who had not seen the parody yet, giving Mayde a lot more subscribers. Or with this FoE, for those who haven’t seen it, gaining new perverts with weird fetishes. (Hey, I don’t like most of the stuff, but honestly I find some of it pretty hot.)
With that in mind, I also wonder if that could possibly work as a GOAL with some things.
For example, if I really liked something, and wanted it to get more attention, if i could find something about it that would appeal to SJW crazies, I could get them to spread the word for me, right?
It’s kind of the same concept as anonymously sumbitting your own work in “confession” blogs on Tumblr–it will get you the attention of others who might like your stuff.
I don’t know, just some crazy thoughts I was having. I sincerely doubt that’s the case here, but who knows? PinkiePony is quite the example of someone who is easily influenced towards specific goals, so just mention how something is misogynist or endorses rape culture, let her find the “faults” herself, and you’ve got an advertising campaign.
