I still don’t believe Sombra will appear in G5 only because the news came from a toy. But damn, if its real, the G5 series is gonna be really complex.

Sunny gave magic back to the non earth ponies. She’s pushing this idea that ponies don’t use their magic on each other and that there’s nothing to be afraid of. But Sombra is still technically a unicorn using unicorn magic. If G5 really does bring back Sombra, G5 is going to subvert its own narrative. That’s amazing for a kids show. That’s like anime levels of subversion.

You want to bet Sombra knows the answer? He was probably there when the fighting started. I mean… It is canon he can control minds.

Maybe its a toy thing like when they said Pipp and Zipp are twins.

However, Sombra is a very fitting villain for g5. He is (or was) a unicorn. Sunny believed the ponies never used their magic on each other. We all know that’s not true because of Starlight and even Twilight who enchanted a doll. Sombra existing alone would break Sunny’s narrative.

Sprout doesn’t need punishment. He needs a non earth pony friend. I am also quite shocked how mean people are now. Is that what social media does? Or do these people have not experienced what its like to screw up in life yet? Everyone screws up eventually. I just hope these people don’t miss the lesson when they do. Its a learning experience.

With Sunny potentially dealing with Argyle’s death, do you guys think g5 will handle it maturely or will they talk down to kids about it.

No one else had the time. But unicorns have this belief that their sparkles can ba taken away by pegasi. This belief would suggest all unicorns can see luminessence.

Its just the happiness of a pony. Ponies are happiest when they’re doing things they enjoy or are good at. My guess is it involves the thing that causes their cutie marks to appear for the first time. Unicorns also believed they could lose their luminessence or it could get stolen. Who knows what started that idea or what value a sparkle really holds if they don’t want to lose it.

I guess Sprout wasn’t the only antagonist pony in some of the unused material from the movie. I wonder if this has any connection to why both Pipp and Sprout originally had red eyes and were changed to green in the final cut.

Yeah but if the topic is about pollution, its not the message you want to send to kids. As a superhero show, it makes sense. But as an environmental awareness mouth piece, it doesn’t.

There doesn’t need to be an antithesis. There’s a reason why environmentalists hated Captain Planet. In the show, the narrative frames all pollution is caused by these group of recurring villains and when the good guys beat them up, it solves the pollution problem. We all know it doesn’t work that way irl.

The issues mlpg5 tackled are also based on irl scenarios. It would be such a false message to teach kids that all you have to do to solve the world’s problems is to blame it on one group and then punish them.

The best character arc in the movie was Hitch. He started out not trusting non earth ponies. Basically just like 99% of the ponies in that world. But when he got to know non earth ponies, he changed his mind. Sunny had no such character arc. I wish she did but each character needed to play a role and that was her role.

Yeah its been observed by other people before. Sunny wanted to make friends with non earth ponies because of what they are and not who they are. In itself, that’s kind of racist and dangerous. She just lucked out she made friends with nice ponies. What if she tried to make friends with genuinely dangerous ones. The term “stranger danger” has a meaning.

I’m glad someone noticed Sunny was also racist. Remember the questions she asked Izzy? Or how she assumed Izzy was reading her mind? Its like assuming all asians know karate or something.

Besides, if there was going to be a sixth member, it would be Sprout. Based on interviews, the only reason they went with 5 ponies instead of 6 was because they ran out of time for the movie. But when you check the concept art, you won’t see an unused sixth pony other than Sprout. He had as much concept art and decisive planning behind his design as much as the other 5 ponies did. I think theres even more effort put into Sprout compared to the other 5 due to revisions. So instead of dropping him, they just used him as the antagonist. The movie would’ve worked if the antagonist was just Phyllis.

Canterlogic will be mass producing phones in the series. They’re clearly like a google or apple company. They’ll be selling phones to Maretime Bay instead of “weapons.”

But if the out come was bad, then Sunny is bad? I don’t believe ends always justify the means. A better explanation would probably be like Hitch fines Sunny for her violations. Maybe he doesn’t need to arrest her, like the video said. Maybe Sunny pays fines of screen for whatever law she breaks.

This movie really messed with people’s biases. Just because we, the audience, know Sunny is right, doesn’t make her right in the eyes of the other characters on screen.

There are many kinds of corrupt cops. An example is going easy on a friend who breaks the law repeatedly every year just because their friends. Its like taking a bribe. Its not fair for other ponies who would also break the law but is not friends with Hitch.

Sprout’s the only one that’s actually doing his job. He knows Sunny breaks into Canterlogic every year. So does Hitch but unlike Sprout, Hitch always goes easy on Sunny no matter what bilaws she breaks, no matter how many she breaks. And she does it every year. Sprout looked like the only one willing to do his job to arrest Sunny.

You really can be arested if you vandalize property by drawing on them or putting stickers on them irl. She also trespasses every year at the Canterlogic event. She doesn’t get fined or punished in any way because her cop friend goes easy on her.
