Simpsons killed off many characters, most notably Bleeding Gums Murphy, and Maude Flanders, and both were handled quite emotionally. I think those were handled better than Brian.

The Brian thing also came off a bit mean spirited to viewers who were kinda critical or tired of Brian being a mouth-piece for the writers or Seth MacFarlane himself…

Its a little more believable too that Larry a side character albeit a common one would die then the dog who is literally one of the main chsracters.

11 years ago today , family guy released life of brian.
I still remember finding out about that episode. Now We know the episode was just a ratings trap ,that’s doesn’t even work.
What’s kind of funniest today When catching up on the simpsons , I came across in the episode that killed the background character larry and I feel more for that character’s death

A lot of the spambots we get are like that.
