To be fair, THEY don’t think it comes naturally. The ep seems to be about proving that it does.

Yeah. If friendship came so natural to griffons, they wouldn’t all be dicks to each other. I can see him buying that logic.

Yeah, I expected the students to start as unlikeable characters defined by their race’s defects and slowly develop during the season, but they became best friends right off the bat.  
I would have liked them better if I don’t know, Gallus constantly expected a payment over every little favor he did to others while Smolder constantly tried to steal and hoard school supplies.

It is a little late for doubt, but Cozy seems quite manipulative.

I like that the students aren’t defined by their race’s stereotypical traits quite so much. It makes their races look less Planet of Hats-y.

Well, there is the possibility of other shapeshifters. If I have to guess based on the name, either they will be light-based (obvious) or darkness-based (ironic reasoning)

Not entirely. I’m fairly sure I didn’t like at least some of the episodes you haven’t liked this season. XD

The idea of the Students replacing the Mane 6 as the elements of harmony sounds gross and genuinely terrible

Why?

Still not sure if they’d be replacing them. I see no issue with them being able to use them though.

Remember the pilot episode? Twilight tried to use the elements against Nightmare Moon, but they were destroyed and then were reborn thanks to the bond among Twilight and her friends.  
A few seasons later, the elements returned to the tree, and Chrysalis’ episode was used to remind us about them.
 
On the lastest episode, the students were tested by the tree of harmony itself.  
The leaked show assets included an image with the elements being destroyed.  
It makes sense to believe the students will reform the elements and take the baton for the finale.
 
Not just the villains, but even the Elements of Harmony will be reformed.
