Season 6 Episode Discussion [Speculation/Theories/Beware of Spoilers]

The episode didn’t outright say that Gabby was the only nice griffon. Only the cutie marks crusaders said this, and they probably haven’t seen that many griffons and are merely going by heresy.

The cartoon showed us her being the only nice Griffon, everyone else were dicks and even Gilda herself needed some help to start being nice.
 
Please don’t say “It happened offscreen” as an argument to claim there’s more nice Griffons and we simply just didn’t saw them.

I INB4’d people goalposting the definition of Mary Sue around and away, but instead got the same idiotic “Mary Sue only = “I don’t like this character” and “Lol people still bring that word up?” BS. Hint: If the term is still being used, YES, it IS still relevant. Otherwise a proper replacement would’ve been created.
 
I don’t expect much, and I’m STILL disappointed. Fuck’s sake, people.

What about this griffon from Princess Spike? If I recall, she didn’t seem mean.

Oh, wow. I had absolutely no memories from that girl being in that episode.
 
Point taken.

So based on the song alone, just to have this episode make any sense, I’m going to pretend/headcanon that this took place over the space of many months at least. Why? Simply for the fact that such would be the only way it would make any sense for her being able to become good/talented at so many different things, expecially boat building.
 
The last particularly because in actual fact it takes years to learn how to and then actually build a ship, unless she had unicorns helped her build it or in general a crew of builders with her directing.

Also I did get the impression, but I need to confirm it by watching the full episode, that Gabby would be very good as an assistant or perhaps in a supervisor role.

Is Gabby the griffon good at literally everything? Because holy crap, she and Twilight are the only teammates you would need to solve any problem.
 
Get her a magic wand, a wizard hat, and a few years at boarding school and maybe she can do magic too.

Please no, we really can’t handle any more timeskips this season. By the time we get to the Season 7 premiere the Mane 6 will be in a retirement home.

I really thought Pinkie and Dash’s visit to Griffonstone would have changed…something. They’re all still jerks.

But still I love Gabby and she can get ALL the hugs.

Big changes don’t just happen overnight. It can take months or even years.

But it was showing her good at cleaning, farming, landscaping and gardening, dentistry, baseball, playing the clarinet, composing, counselling, baking, math, ship building, and more. Unless she was secretly training in the Griffinlands as a Jack of Trades before going to Ponyville it would literally only makes sense, even in the cartoon, that it took place over the course of months or more.

Also was I the only one who thought Rarity had an overly pleased expression as she stared while Gabby waved her hindquarters towards the mare, tail raised?

Well it’s already been over a year since we’ve seen the griffen lands.

I probably just have an attraction to absurdly gifted characters, which would explain a lot. Gabby is the only griffon so far I’d consider being married to, or being super best friends with.
 
I’ve also more or less given up trying to figure out how much time/how many years have passed in MLP. I mostly go by number of pony holidays, or use major events in the show to mark the passage of time.
 
So if I was ever in the show setting and using or abusing time travel, I’d go. “Well, Twilight has wings, the friendship castle exists, the CMC have their marks, and there are now dragons griffons and changelings living in Ponyvile too, so its gotta be year 1XXX”

I’d say she’s like a cross between Pinkie Pie and Twilight of the griffons.

A timeskip could be needed to keep the CMC around for some more time, as they are supposed to be little girls but their VA aren’t anymore and it shows on their voices.
