One could post an image here of an OC bearing the resemblence of a Doom Dragon from Golden Sun if it was seen in a separate image next to a pony and was depicted in a style similar to the show. Which reminds me of Plague the Six-Winged Serpent:

Forget the creator association, I always hated that reason and I think people should stop using it.  
The question is – Could you make a bunch of non-pony MLP OCs, and consider that an MLP fan-work?
 
Keeping in mind that canonically there are multiple non-pony races that can speak (or which are at least intelligent), like the Yaks, Sheep, Cows, Bison, Dragons, Donkeys, Deer, Goats, and probably more.

It’s not due to its potential. Them’s Fighting is Magic Herds is represented by its past. I’m assuming these Freedom Planet analogies are being wasted, but FP started as a fan game before they added Sonic OCs because they thought it would get more attention. Since it’s gonna be on the Wuu… X3

I’m not sure why it makes a difference to you whether I comment on the pictures or not. It’s not like I’m trolling on them, and this is the only one I’ve commented on. I haven’t done so before because this is the first time the art for the game (devoid of pony related content) has come to my attention. I think it’s just as reasonable to suggest you ignore my comments if you don’t agree with them, as it is for me to not express my opinion on them.

I understand your point that this could theoretically fit into the Equestria universe, but that mere potential, outside of anything else, isn’t enough to pronounce it pony related IMO. Again, the fact remains that this project is no longer affiliated with or tied to pony in regards to anything about its actual content. Just creator association, and I’m not sure that should be a justifiable reason.

The thing is, they can’t officially say “this game is a my little pony related game” because they have hasbro breathing down their necks.
 
This could easily be an “extended universe” type situation, where they don’t officially acknowledge it, but everyone knows it’s set in Equestria. There are non-pony races after all, and in that regard this character does look like it fits in. I could see this character walking around in official MLP content.
 
Personally I just think tying these new characters to the mane 6 kind of just weakens their point. It would’ve been so much better to have these new characters with individual personalities instead, but from what I’ve seen it looks like they’re making carbon-copies of the main characters, just as different species. I hope that doesn’t turn out to be the case.

Just because bronies are working on a project together, doesn’t make it a pony project or pony related though.
 
I understand the association of this game to ponies. But, while it started out as a FIM game, the creators are bronies and Lauren Faust contributed on it, it’s still no longer a pony game however you can spin it. So I don’t see any reason to catalog its artwork here.

Though, whenever we or Mane6 say TFH isn’t about ponies or MLPFiM, what we really mean… Well, forget the thing about Faust. Mane6 is comprised entierly of bronies. Circumvention of the players’ appearences doesn’t make Freedom Planet any less a Sonic game, so… X3

I’m not saying people involved with pony should never talk about anything else not pony again or that ED or other sites needs to weed out every single other mention of other things to stay relevant. There is a big difference between Andy Price mentioning other projects or franchises or whatever in an interview/article otherwise focused on pony, or even ED mentioning a prominent fandom person getting engaged to a show staff member (I don’t remember a front page post on the subject showing up there but am not denying it never did), and continually covering a fandom project long after its ceased to be related to actual ponies.
 
That’s ED though, which isn’t even really relevant here. This being a pony image archive site, non pony pics like this really don’t belong here.

For what it’s worth I agree. I get the whole thing about how this game came to be and evolved and Lauren Faust pitching in and all that, but it’s not pony anymore. And I don’t think it belongs here anymore or deserves front page coverage by places like ED anymore.

Can we all stop pretending that this game is pony related anymore? They changed everything about it. It has zero to do with pony now other then being made by people who are in the fandom?

I support non-pony OCs so long as they fit the style and the universe. If Fighting Is Magic is just not-ponies in the same universe, then of course it fits here. It’d just be exploring the non-trademarked “extended universe”.
 
Human OCs though? How does that work?
