To be fair, the reason the definition of “genocide” doesn’t include the mass murder of political dissidents is because the Soviet Union lobbied against it back when the UN was coming up with an internationally-accepted definition of genocide back in 1948. The term “democide” has been created to describe politically-motivated - as opposed to ethno-religiously based - mass murder.
Also, the Soviet Union did commit a number of acts of mass murder that would fall under the definition of genocide. Their behavior towards the Crimean Tartars (The Sürgün), the Poles (The Polish Operation) the Don Cossacks (Decossackization) and the Chechens (Operation Lentil) and Soviet Germans were all motivated by ethnic as well as political concerns.
That’s not genocide, that’s bad leadership. Genocide has to fit the criteria or else you’re just throwing out the word meaninglessly. The Russian Pogroms were genocide. The Armenian Question was genocide. The Rwandan Civil War was genocide. But the Holodomor? Debatable, but I’d err on the side of Stalin being an omnicidal, paranoid-delusive tyrant.
With that Soviet Union flag (or its likes), know that she has the potential to sacrifice everypony for her selfish goals or for her few ‘loyalists’.
How is she genocidal? She never killed anypony, and definately not of a certain race of culture.
