Thrash metal rules! :) All I can really say there.
Personally, my preferred style is thrash and heavy metal, the problem is that I’m not fast enough to play my favorite songs.
I also have to use a tuner to tune my guitars lol. And I pretty much can only use a chromatic tuner on my 7 string because of using dropped C w/ a low G as my main tuning.
And no, I’m not djent! Well…at least not on purpose lol.
Yeah, but like I said, musicians who used their guitars a long time are probably gonna hear some slight difference in pitch, unless they’re like me, and can’t hear the difference between a C and G in a bass.
Seriously, I can’t tune my own stuff for crap unless I’m using a reference.
Again though, I am probably wrong being as I just figure this stuff out as I go, which can leave me making an ass out of myself when trying to actually talk about it. :P
Oh yeah, the neck does do a lot about the pitch when fretting. But what I mean is, if 2 necks are the same, I don’t think there would be much difference that wouldn’t be fixed by tuning. Though granted both necks would have to be pretty much exactly the same I think and if some frets were say, bigger than before, it could make it sound different I guess.
If I remember correctly, which given that I haven’t done anything technical with stringed instruments for like two years is probably wrong, the neck itself is what determines the pitch of the sound, which, like I said, can seriously throw off someone who’s used to a certain sound coming off of the guitar.
Also, the material also did something regarding the tone, but, first, I can’t remember what it did, and second, I’m pretty sure that only counts for basses.

I lost a best friend once possibly because I said someone/thing had “done goofed.”
I thought pitch had more to do with the tuning? The neck would make a difference, with a tuner (chromatic would be best) it could pretty much be restored. And for tone I don’t really see how that would make a difference. Tone I’ve noticed has more to do with the strings and the pickups, also partly the amplifier being used as well. Switching the neck out could though have a difference in sound if the frets aren’t exactly the same as before (such as how high up they are.) Though some of this is just me talking out my ass and trying to look like I know something LOL :P
