i could be a pet
Personally, I see it as Flutters wanting to be pampered and taken care of once in a while. We all know she is one caring pony, and she would probadly want to be given as much love and attention as she is typically giving her pets.
I think it’s pretty innocent, Flutters is probably just curious to see what it’s like being the pet for once.
And what pony doesn’t like being brushie brushie brushie’d?
I’m pretty sure it is. Recall that in “Hurricane Fluttershy” Angel brushed Fluttershy’s mane when she was distraught, so this is perfectly keeping with their relationship.
Because you can’t (read: shouldn’t) form emotional bonds with toys; especially when compared to the idea of the living being.
