Meh, that’s their problem.
I talked about that already, I was explaining why there is a problem with it from how SOME do it, not all.
Not everyone does it in the same way.
You don’t see how paying an artist and getting nothing but your name put on somthing already out there isn’t harmful?
It’s basically being ripped off.
k? I don’t see how that’s harmful. Honestly everyone does it differently…
I can understand it’s all opinions and stuff but to say you see no harm…
I think you are kind of denying a few things there.
As I pointed out, the ones that do it “as is” are basically having you pay for what is right there, already post, so you are only paying to get your name put on an image everyone can see before you payed, you end up with basically nothing for your money.
Again, opinions, if you don’t like it, that’s fine, I just don’t personally see a problem if people wanna do it, that’s up to them, I see no harm.
Problem is they are already posting it to be seen and that is what is the adoptable most time.
This artist is doing more with the “Style, biography, cutiemark and accessories can be changed to your liking” but if it’s only an “as is” one then it’s dumb as you are paying for you is already there.
If the artist is going to give you a higher quality image of it and modify it to you liking as well then it makes sense, but as there are too many that jest do it “as is” it will make people think of them as really dumb as you are getting an image you can get for free as it’s already there.
Opinions, obviously. Sometimes another artist makes a design that you could never personally do yourself and it’s done well and you really like it, so you buy it. I don’t see any harm or dumb in that. Of they wanna do it, it’s all up to them.
I don’t think his problem with it has anything to do with quality of the art, but that it’s somthing already made by the artist so what’s the point of buying it.
It’s not like with a commission when you pay the artist to do art of your choosing.
Paying the artist to draw your own OC makes sense but to pay for an OC they made is kind of dumb.
I’ve seen some really amazing and nice stuff, don’t judge all of it just for the lazy ones, it’s unfair. A lot of it is probably more for the art style anyway too.
Yeah but still, I don’t get why people would pay real money to purchase someone else’s imaginary character. On this low-level scale of fandom stuff, that is. Paying to purchase rights to a famous cartoon character? Sure. Paying to purchase rights to…some random furry’s random furry OC? Yeeaahhh, not seeing the point in that.
Dunno, I think furry adoptables are better by principle due to having the freedom of being pretty much anything. Pony is pony, like only 6ish body designs to choose from. Only limit to furry is being not-human pretty much.
Yeah, I’ll never understand how the sale of OCs/“adoptables” continues to be a thing. What’s stopping me from just creating a character really similar to this one? Especially since it’s a pony and ponies’ body builds tend to be really similar to each other. I don’t understand why people purchase unofficial fan-characters.
At least it’s not like on FA where an artist will draw one character (usually a generic wolf or dragon or fox or some other typical furry thing), palette swap it 40 times and then sell each one for 5 bucks.
