Well it felt dark at the time… Well like you said dark for Pinkie anyway. If having your Cutie Mark ripped away from you, is like tantamount to having your “Soul” being ripped away from your Body. Then, this Scene should have brought that Home.
That’s why I’m of the thought that this was actually the darkest moment of The Cutie Map Pt. 1, and not “You can’t have a nightmare, if you never dream!” which in-itself was perhaps the greatest Line of any Song EVER!
