I had this reaction when I wrote my reverse-alicorn Twilight fanfic; it was supposed to pretty much be the MLP version of One More Day.

Which in that case means it’s bad satire and i’ll call it out as such  
“It’s satire” and “it’s just a joke” became an excuse to produce unfunny and rushed whinning nowadays.It doesnt even have to be clever nowadays (see every content produced by Encyclopedia Dramatica) just rant like a child with Tourette,place the sacred seal of FREEZE PEACH TM that automatically shield you from any criticism and voilà,you can claim to be on par with Jonathan Swift or a martyr for FREEZE PEACH if you get banned from a forum.People used to die for free speech now you have teens throwing a tantrum or drawing dicks when they get banned from an Internet forums while claiming without shame to be a “troll” Criticizing is easy but art is difficult and satire during the Internet era is definitely a lost art.  
I’d like my satire,if not funny,to be clever,to make you think,not dropping the latest internet/Maymay/buzzwords and/or calling people gays or pervert and calling it a day
