But seriously, I kinda like the idea that if you try to create a baby through magical means (because you cant use natural ones), you dont get true genetic diversity (in that you have genes from both your parents but get some random elements), but instead a sort of perfect genetic mashup that, while doing its job, marks you as magical offspring. Like, if people know your parents, they can instantly tell you were created through magic.
 
Im thinking maybe instead of a pregnancy the spell creates a magical seed that you need to feed with magic ever so often, until it grows to the appropriate size, opens up, and voila, baby.
