Eh. I never really saw the appeal in the JP dub. The opening/closing themes were not only “meh”, but they were so long that they had to cut stuff out of the episodes just to fit in the pointlessly long intro themes.
And the voices didn’t really appeal to me either. Usually I’m fine with japanese voice acting, but the JP dub of FIM just kinda pales in comparison to the original English.
I dunno, maybe I’m just not anime-savvy enough to really appreciate it.
If only that MLP was brought to Japan years earlier via G1 to G3.5, and the cartoons were dubbed there, merchandise included, then MLP would have endured and still had a fanbase. But, bushiroad was not yet founded at the time.
Still waiting for the voices of Dark King Sombra, Babs Seed, Peachbottom, Sunset Shimmer, Flash Sentry, etc. in the Nihongo dubs.

With no news of season 3 and the fact that Bushiroad, the largest proprietor of MLP merch in Japan dropped Ponies. It’s quite grim for Pony fans in Japan. Hopefully, this is a simple matter of license.
Anti-otaku do. :T
no one cares
Don’t know. I’m not Joe Lambert.
As far as I have read the articles, local cable.
Possibly also NHK or TBS.
Which network in Japan still airs MLP?
Well, that’s just you. Have it your way.
