If I were less honest I would congratulate you on spotting the subtext and claim that was my plan all along, but in truth I never set out with the intention of representing the four loves. I just wanted four little vignettes of ponies helping or being kind to one another in different ways that were vaguely related to the lines of the poem (thus the choice of Roseluck for the first, and Nurse Redheart for the last). I’m really not that subtle!
