I agree that the show should continue being animated in Flash. But if they had a one-time movie or a special that was CG animated with that level of detail and quality, it could be really darn cool.

I thought people liked Monsters vs. Aliens. I hate every movie that I’ve seen by Dreamworks, but I think that one is a lot more well received than the utter garbage like Shrek The Third.

If it looked like that, it could work. But I feel that it’s best for the show to remain animated in Flash.

While there are quite a few Dreamworks Animation movies that I love, most of them feel really shallow and patchwork to me, usually with one or two major flaws. Plus they are fully committed to CGI and 3D, which I don’t think would work well with the current MLP designs. I just don’t think they’d be a good fit for MLP:FiM. Now MLP:EG, that’s a possibility, if they can keep a high standard for the writing.

Considering Dreamworks Animation has taken three writedowns in the past two years due to their movies underperforming, and that there was talk about a month and a half ago of Japanese telecommunications and internet conglomerate SoftBank buying the company, I’d say that Hasbro is currently in the stronger position.

But they make godawful movies with forced and unfunny pop culture references. If he likes it, that’s fine, but I honestly do not no if he’s kidding or not. This company is the thing that MLP needs to stay the furthest away from, because it would ruin them. :I I do not agree that their films are great or I wouldn’t be legitimately confused how anyone could want them to own Hasbro. I am confused though.
 
Stating my own opinion isn’t lambasting him; I’m just expressing my own strong disagreement. I don’t know why that means I have no place on this site.

Nah. I’m tired of everything being CG now a day and MLP specifically has a good reason not to be, because they do a huge cheat with their muzzles when their seen head on that makes them a lot smaller than they should be. It’s a cheat you can really only get away with in 2D and I think it makes the characters more appealing, personally.

Weird bit of trivia: the He-Man and She-Ra cartoons from the ‘80s were made by Filmation. Filmation’s TV and film properties are currently owned by DreamWorks Animation. So if this deal goes through, Hasbro will have the rights to two cartoons based on Mattel toys.

If this deal goes through, I wonder what this would mean for the movie. Could this mean an all CG pony movie? Although I have my doubts about that happening regardless if the deal goes through, but I have mixed feelings about such an idea. I think the show is just fine with Flash animation.
