I was pretty shocked to see it was Hasbro wanting to buy them and not the other way around in the first place. The fact that they didn’t even agree to buy it doesn’t look very good for the company. Sucks for all the animators that will probably loose their jobs soon, but I think the company is on its last leg with this news. Hopefully all the animators that work there will have something to fall back on; having worked at Dreamworks will probably look good on their resume.
 
I’m not even saying this because I dislike Dreamworks; it just looks like they’re actually in a bad spot.

Well, I’m not against experimenting with 3D CG animation. I talked about a theoretical CG special in some earlier comments. But I do feel that it’s best to have the upcoming movie animated in Flash.

But who’s to say that they would be animating it in three-dimensional because……..well they felt like it would be appropriate and worth a lot of money, but is it? Would it be appropriate if it was three dimensional and somehow be incredibly spectacular like 2snacks?
 
Now, that wouldn’t seem a problem to them, or some to us, but frankly, I would think that two-dimensional animation is the right format of this anticipated movie.

I wouldn’t be surprised if the show retained its Flash animation.

So the merger of Hasbro and Dreamworks has been declined. What now? Will it be 2d animated with improvements from the show with more detailed animation frequency? And also, it would be epic to see it in IMAX 3d, but not as weird as your eyes start to have difficulties………..

if they go through with this then 5 years from now Hasbro and Dreamworks will release the teaser for MLP G5 (FIM2) and upon release day we’re greeted with MLP CITY SIMULATOR!!!!! And then you turn on the TV and Lauren Faust’s ghost comes out and is like “UHHHHHHH FUCKIN WHO LIKES THE OLD MLP AMIRITE?!? BRB MAKING LITTLEST PET SHOP MODERN WARFARE!!!!!!!!!”

The ponies will be fine. Hasbro is the company calling the shots here, so if anything it’ll be DreamWorks’ properties that get hosed. Maybe Shrek’s swamp will be drained and he’ll have to move to a fancy new Rainbow Crystal Swamp.

I really don’t see how it would really work.  
Hasbro is a toy company with licenses to several cartoons and Dreamworks a large animated film company. Them trying to merge would really limit their output, or they would end up spreading too thin if they tried to cover everything.  
I really don’t see it working out. Joint projects would probably work ok though

I [am] legitimately confused how anyone could want them to own Hasbro.  
I’m of the belief that Dreamworks is less likely to screw up Hasbro’s IP than Hasbro is. Hasbro is all about the churn and burn of their IP.
 
That said, I don’t trust either of them.
