Spike is naturally meant to be quadrupedal, not evident by his toy, but his design looks slightly more efficient while on all fours in Green Isn’t.
 
Anyway, Anon actually suggested Humdrum is pretty much Spike in terms of everything except species. Does menial tasks for his adoptive sister/mother/daughter thing, acts as a distraction or last resort most effectively helping in a manner which turns the tide in the heroes’ favour (without Spike, Sombra wins, and without surrogate Humdrum, the mane cast is trapped in a comic book filled with horrible plot holes and conflicts with the show, lel), and is more than as what he sees himself as.
 
Also, he’s the one male lead surrounded by six females in a 90% female cast overall, and the writes can never get past his overarching character besides “being a guy”, sometimes not even bothering to give him lines or a conclusive subplot. Kuh, sorry, that’s mostly Spike. XD
 
I nearly forgot to integrate a harem anime joke in the preceding, and as such, cannot find a suitable place to do so. >w<

I doubt standing on two legs is Humdrum’s special power since other ponies in this page (Zapp, Saddle Rager, Fili-Second, and possibly Masked Matter-horn) are also standing on two legs.

And apparently Humdrum is as obsessive about doing checklists as Twilight Sparkle. Another thing about him that would annoy Spike.

I’m assuming that those are his main powers, which is one of the reasons that Spike doesn’t think much of Humdrum. His powers are things that Spike does normally.

Oh, wait, now I get it. Spike loves the Power Ponies comic. Humdrum loves the My Little Donkey television show. Both sets of heroes ignore either Spike or Humdrum (sometimes). :3

How can he hold that pen? And why he’s standing on two legs?
