That ask blog… I think the most hilarious thing about that is that several posts are the author asking his own OC questions. I don’t think you can get any more desperate than that.
 
Although honestly, if the author was actually 8 years old and I knew it for a fact, I wouldn’t hate on the character nearly as much. Because after all, I think most of us (myself included) have gone through that phase in our youth where we create a superpowered mary sue wish-fulfillment character for our own enjoyment. It would still be a bad character, but I would at least understand why it exists.

Oh yeah, I know. I reluctantly went through most of the images that appears for the OC. You want to know what I love best? He’s completely lazy and puts no effort into even making his OC somewhat interesting. That whole ask blog just has the same damn vector for every post he does, what’s awesome is that it’s not even his body type if I’m correct.  
The creator HAS to be like eight-years-old or a decent troll, there’s no other explanation.

There, there. That… character… represents the 0 on the scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being the best and 1 being the worst). One could say that he provides an important example of how not to make an OC. As I’ve said, compared to him, loads of other OCs suddenly look a whole lot better (or at the very least, a whole lot less offensive).
 
What’s really sad is that his creator and the artist who draws him have deluded themselves into thinking that he’s a great character. No joke.

For me personally, I don’t really mind the idea of OCs being shipped with the Mane Six in and of itself. The dealbreaker is how the relationship is written (if at all). Sometimes it can be downright offensive. Thankfully my cursory research indicates that this isn’t one of those cases, as far as I can tell.

To be completely honest the OC doesn’t look that bad. Just generic. People would be calling him good/decent, but he’s being shipped with Twilight and that set the jimmy rustling status straight to red.

There are some truly horrendous Mary Sue OCs out there that make this guy seem downright normal. This fellow here is an excellent example: >>409929

What a terrible color scheme that OC has! And those poor kids having to inherit that.
 
Generally oc x canon is a terrible idea, but with a bad OC like this makes it worse.

Trust me folks, there are far worse OCs. Having read the profile his creator put together, this guy actually seems pretty tolerable compared to some of the more… egregious ones out there **shudder **.

Good art though, I wish I could draw like that.

Just because it’s well drawn doesn’t mean it’s a ‘good oc’. OCs shouldn’t be able to be colored using a ‘crayola marker set’. It’s a common misconception that the only ‘bad’ colors is red and black. It’s more about saturation than color choice, and this is over saturated.

Though I agree the color scheme doesn’t match with the show, we can’t call it a self-insert just on appearance. That’s an assumption people make whenever they see Canon x OC.
 
I haven’t heard any talk of this character being perfect and invincible.

The art is not good. If nothing else, Twilight is stabbing him in the eye with her horn. The foals are uninspired in their appearance. I mean look at the show, how often to kids look identical to their parents? They look similar, but having the same coat and mane colors is lazy.
