The End wasn't The End - Found a new home after the great exodus of 2012

@Alanith
I feel like at some point, the writers for the EU realized they’d made all of their main characters who were worth anything into Jedi, so they overcompensated by writing multiple sagas where the Jedi just got relentlessly shat on by the Galaxy.

To be fair, anything she writes before ROTJ is at least bearable if you remember that most of the characters have grudges, legitimate or otherwise, against the Jedi. LoTF she goes right into full retard, with Jania somehow being thrown off by enemies who can somehow disappear from the force and wear armor immune to lightsabers. When she literally fought a five year long war against guys who not only did the same thing, but did it BETTER. I will say this, her books do make for a good drinking game though. “Take a sip every time Skitara calls someone Son! Take a sip every time someone talks down the Jedi!”

It’s relevant because Traviss wrote an infamously bad Halo novel series called the Kilo-Five trilogy, which was rife with character assassination.

She also was the main writer for Gears of War 3.

During her tenure on Star Wars, she was gung-ho on presenting the Jedi as baby stealing slaver zealots who suck and need the Mandalorians to teach them how not to suck at every turn. She also tried to convince us that 12 million Clones were enough to fight a war spanning hundreds of planets!

She also calls anyone who critisizes her “Talifans”.

There’s a reason she has the nickname of Tranissty.

Not really. I’m really fascinated by the Sangheili species, but nothing really else.

Besides, I’m not much of a gamer. The only first person shooters I play are Resistance and Killzone. Love both of them very much.

(Also, don’t see how its relevant…And to be honest, I’ve only read Order 66 and not any of the others…granted, I was a kid and I had no idea that it was a series. More of a book my brother rented and I read out of boredom.)

Yeah, I know they do Anikan justice in it, but how they handle Greivous and some of the clone aspects doesn’t suit well with me.

It doesn’t help that Lucas made only the CG series and movies the only canon.

I grew up with several star wars books, some of them were about the clone wars and such. Order 66, one of the Republic Commando books. Read that. (It should be noted that regular clones were not as idealistic as in the series. That was just commandos, who had more freedom.) I mean, clones would run into a machine gun nest if you ordered them too. They’ll do their best, but they’ll follow orders through and through.

And Grievous, come on, you know they ruined him.

But again, yes. They had a great Anakin….I don’t know why they gave him a padawan, Ahskoka.

Point I was trying to make was that it featured a far more believable and likable Anakin and actually showed his fall as gradual and believable… Usually.

And I’m sorry, but some of the best Star Wars stories are in there, like the Umbara and Yoda arcs.

@Darth Sonic
Are you talking about the ‘Clone Wars’ 2D, or the CG one?

Cause I really don’t care much at all for the CG one, since it butchers a lot of Star Wars lore. (The clones didn’t have a CHIP! They acted out their orders willingly because that was what they were bred and trained to do. Hell, some of the clones even let Jedi go when the order came about.

Not to mention what they did to General Grevious. You know, the awesome jedi killer! Who was one of the most feared people in the galaxy even before he got turned into a cyborg. What the hay were the writers of the CG series thinking when they pretty much destroyed his character.)

Yeah, again, I am not including that. If I included the original animated series, which is far superior, I would say there was some indication.

Discord — maybe, we don’t know. Not directly, anyway. Indirectly… it’s up to imagination.
Luna — are you sure-sure? We don’t know how she learned her black(?) magic, and what she done behind the curtains before declaring her intentions to Celestia.
Sombra — he was the King in old-old times. Even “good” old kings signed executions orders, what do you expect from evil king?

But it happened so fast and it wasn’t like Anikan had been taking dark side points or anything. There was no transition. Yes, we got ‘hints’ but no real indication he was off the deep end before he cut off Mace Windu’s hands.
