I think they said that was intentionally spoofing the “Disney fake-out death” trope that’s common in animated movies.
“Wakko’s Wish” was in a way like the series finale, and it was quite good, I felt. I liked how many Animaniacs characters cameo’d in it.
Already seen the film enough times, so no effect.
